Why is it a negative that we’re putting a priority on the assistant coaches and looking to “load up”?

Stephen A was on ESPN, said Kidd will be our coach within 2 years. The optics of his past forces him to take this low paying gig (cause he doesn't need it, still making good $ off the Bucks) to get back the NBA and there has to be a wink wink, nod nod deal in place as soon as Vogel struggles.

Vogel took it because it's still $10m, no one else was calling and it pays much better than the ESPN spots he was getting.

Really? Have you seen the names this FO had lined up to interview? They’re operating like this is the 80’s, come on. Also head coaches usually get to pick their own damn staff.

Because we went cheap on our first option, only to hire the fourth and fifth option to say it’s equal value. I don’t mind the Vogel hire whatsoever, but Jeanie said herself she wants to surround herself with the best people and so far it’s been nothing but HER people.

It’s another corner cutting polished turd move, only the media/fans have become wise to this and are pushing back with every “smart” move the FO makes.

Walton, Jackson, Rambis x 2, Pelinka, Magic, Kidd. All pawns. Low grade pawns in the game. We were promised the best, we know who the best are and every move has been what’s best to keep Jeanie’s bubble safe, not Lakers success on and off the court.

Yes get the “best” assistants. Kidd is not that. So plan is great, just like before, but the optics and results are off the charts bad.

If the Lakers moved themselves to some Island that no one has ever heard of that would be great. These embarrassing tid bits that are becoming a regular daily occurrence is getting ridiculous.

I’ve tried to be positive with this FO, but what a joke this has been.

I guess I’m just trying to get a sense of the main cause of the current outrage. Like if hypothetically Kidd wasn’t named an assistant, would you all have been less upset about the Vogel hire or news that we’re trying to load up his assistant coaching staff?

I hope the Frank hires Thibs to the coaching staff since he's willing to take the job as an assistant coach.

Oh god lmao. Yes Lebron’s stardom is definitely the most destructive force in our organization. It’s totally not the only saving grace we currently have...

Were those Ramona’s exact words? Comparing Lebron to Melo and almost threatening the fact that he doesn’t have a no trade clause?

Hahahah. Sandusky isn't gonna be head coach because of his nautiness but we will give him an office at the university and give him a pension for life. That will teach him!

What offense is run with Lebron on the team and no shooters isn't gonna matter anyways. It's going to be Lebron dribbling and everyone watch and get the ball if open.

Defense is not allowed in the NBA in the regular season so I don't know if teaching defense is going to matter. Defense is about focus and effort anyways and this Lakers team is about as focused as a 5 year old ADHD kid.
