Alright, definitely a much needed bump. So we have the 11th best odds at the #1 overall pick. Getting lucky and the pick turning into say a top-7 would be fantastic. Anyone out there want to give us a boost of optimism(even if the pick winds up being traded lolz) and give us a top-11 big board? Thanks in advance.
I just witnessed the craziest draft lottery (other than a outside team jumping to the first pick) with the NHL draft lottery. The two bottom teams were bounced out of the top 3 (including my Kings ). Chicago had the 12th worst record and moved into 3rd. New York had the 6th worst record and moved into 2nd. New Jersey went from 3rd to get the 1st overall. Stranger things Laker fam, stranger thingsssss.
maybe silver will pull a "frozen envelope" style draft and help out this failing franchise that has been one of the key pillars in growing the NBA? one can dream
It's not like it'd be the first time we saw something like that happen for a team with Lebron (Cleveland getting the 1st overall in the 2014 Draft from the 9th spot that would eventually be traded to Minnesota for KLove).
Here’s a chart with the odds. I don’t think it’s very easy to read so here’s a link with the chart in the article. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26092152/how-nba-draft-lottery-works-zion-favorites-new-odds NO. 1 (%) TOP 3 (%) TOP 5 (%) EXPECTED PICK Team 1 14.0 (25.0) 40 (64) 100 (100) 3.7 (2.6) Team 2 14.0 (19.9) 40 (56) 80 (100) 3.9 (3.0) Team 3 14.0 (15.6) 40 (47) 67 (96) 4.1 (3.4) Team 4 12.5 (11.9) 37 (38) 55 (83) 4.4 (4.0) Team 5 10.5 (8.8) 32 (29) 44 (55) 5.0 (4.7) Team 6 9.0 (6.3) 28 (22) 37 (22) 5.5 (5.5) Team 7 7.5 (4.3) 23 (15) 32 (15) 6.2 (6.5) Team 8 6.0 (2.8) 19 (10) 26 (10) 7.0 (7.6) Team 9 4.5 (1.7) 15 (6) 20 (6) 8.0 (8.7) Team 10 3.0 (1.1) 10 (4) 14 (4) 9.2 (9.8) Team 11 2.0 (0.8) 7 (3) 9 (3) 10.3 (10.8) Team 12 1.5 (0.7) 5 (3) 7 (3) 11.4 (11.8) Team 13 1.0 (0.6) 3 (2) 5 (2) 12.5 (12.8) Team 14 0.5 (0.5) 2 (2) 2 (2) 13.7 (13.8) Top four picks selected by lottery draw
We will be in a better position a year from now lol...the Lakers climax of the season is typically June... Sadly not early June anymore but late June.
6'5'' guard that can create off the dribble. In moments, he plays like Harden with those Eurosteps and step backs. He has had a wide variance in where he'll be drafted. A high boom/bust pick.
Yes, I hope very much that the Pelicans, Wizards, Blazers or any other team whose star we’ll be looking to take likes these players as well.
Not to be that guy but fixed for the typo. Yeah well had to look him up when talking about "those". Thick already as well. Where's he projected?
I'm wondering who we might be targeting; I'm hoping shooting is one of the things we are looking for because it is a need on this team. I haven't really looked into any prospects...usually, our scouting department (when give the chance), does a very good job of finding quality players...
Been following this guy for awhile; Lakers fan, covers college hoops, knows the prospects pretty well...
To be honest, whoever we pick probably won't be contributing right away anyway unless we luck out with some Donovan Mitchell sort of pick. This isn't a particularly deep draft in terms of talent past Zion/RJ.
I was excited with earlier mocks where we landed Garland and when I read up on Garland (Dame comp) to bad now its the Duke wing who was a 5 star recruit but stunk it up at Duke (Reddish)
