Obviously hopeful thinking but I'd love to have Jerry back on our side. I thought it was a mistake to scorn him before.

I can’t see it happening at all but I’d love to be wrong.

I really hope it’s true, but I don’t know, it’s hard to believe, I keep reading the relationship between he and Jeanie may be too bad to salvage, she’d have to really swallow her pride to bring him on.

Edit: I read this as I woke up from a nap, still groggy, I did not see the PBO part, I assumed it said as a consultant. No way Jerry wants to do this full time anymore. Maybe if he worked jointly in some way with Ryan though? I don’t no, now I’m wishful thinking.

Either this Mr. Untouchable is trolling everyone or he's more connected than anyone out there in the media. If they move Ryan up maybe incentive for Jerry? But what about all the other reports about Rob, Kurt and his wife? Does Jerry accept that at his age and with Rob the snake there who's Kobe's best friend? Am now so confused.

    :Javalebarfbag:

LOL maybe Steve Mason busting Jeanie's chops about running the multi billion dollar Lakers like a mom and pop organization got to her. HA. Doubt it.

Sure would help get Kawhi here instead of where Jerry had been setting him up for the Clippers push to sign him.

This franchise is in absolute shambles right now...they need to hire a strong calming professional with credibility and strong relationships around the league in order to get back some professionalism and re-aquire their mojo along the way.

It is hard to believe the reality, which is that Jeanie is the western conference version of James Dolan and the Lakers are pretty much the Knicks of the west....with consistent chaos off the court and terrible results on the court.

He doesn't know jack s***. Just deletes his tweets when he's wrong. Didn't he claim with certainty PG was coming here? I can find that screenshot somewhere. He's like most unverified "insiders" - talks a lot about obvious stuff and sometimes hits. Laker fans love it because a lot of the time it's positive news regarding our team. But don't be fooled.

There's another one of these guys - I think ScoopB is his name - who is claiming that Durant is 100% coming here. Obviously both cannot be true.

This is another really funny listen, Anthony and Harrison talk “why Kurt Rambis?”, Jeanie’s media shields all being gone, they make fun of B0ron Scott’s book, and at the end they have even more fun at Pelinka’s expense

This one is incredibly enlightening on Linda Rambis, Jeanie’s mentality, how Pelinka is viewed around the league and why, what can be done with Jeanie as owner if she ultimately proves not fit for the job (could she be forced to sell), great guest on this one with real insight on this situation

Yeah. Matian is the lawyer whose tweets several of us have posted. Pretty plugged in but you can tell the situation is all over the place and no one has real answers right now.

I'm of the opinion that the PoB position here isn't as important as some think and indeed Magic was just a front which is how it was supposed to be in his head. I think he thought "Rob does the work, I just flash my pearly whites and make people want to play here". I think PoB will be a position that handles day to day basketball operations while Rob concentrates on acquisitions (players and coaches), trades and the cap. The PoB position is different from team to team. Being in audio production I can only equate it to the producer on an album. They may be heavily involved in the album's sound and material or very little involved with that aspect while the engineer does all the hard work. It's the same and I don't think the Laker PoB position is going to be as involved in basketball personnel as the day-to-days as it is being made out to be. In which case Rambis would be alright and he is knowledgeable about the game anyways. Rob will recruit. I also think people are making way too much out of negative relationships with Pelinka. He has many positive relationships with GMs and players respect him. We have always had a few agent problems (waves hi to David Lee). If he's good @ his job then yes, damn right he pissed off a few agents. One of the all-time top music industry managers and agents is Irving Azoff who has said "If I haven't made any enemies I haven't represented my clients well or done a good job"

The right answer is Ryan West with Jerry as a Consultant.

I don't know who has the balls to trade probably your best player (Tobias Harris) midseason and still remain competitive and competent with chemistry on your team. Look how our team was built this year. It looked like we just went after guys who had the best resume vs. who actually wanted to play basketball and compete. Our scouting team has been really good the last few years at finding talent, but our free agent and trade department has been impervious.

Clean house, get the Logo back in to mentor his son, and move on.

    This one is a thread

The ONLY thing that can save this is star power, that’s it. We are turning into the Knicks. Unless we’re trotting out LeBron, Kawhi/Kyrie, and AD next season, it will be a disaster and unwatchable.

We aren’t the Knicks yet though, and we don’t HAVE to be. We are 9 years removed from our last title, the Knicks are 20 years from their last FINALS appearance. Jeanie isn’t a stubborn old grumpy fool like Dolan, she should be better than this, she watched her father run this operation. Also LeBron didn’t join the Knicks, he joined us, so we clearly are not the joke of the league and do not have to be if we don’t keep screwing up these front office and coaching hires. If we land no one this summer though, once LeBron’s contract is up, we may very well BE the Knicks.

This is what gripes me the most.

After Magic stepped down, David Griffith said there are people lining up for that job. And all signs point to us not even considering anyone else for that position!

And now you have Linda "what is basketball" Rambis being a big voice, and Kurt "no FO experience" Rambis taking the PBO position. ALL of that, on top of Rob "no one will take my phone call" Pelinka as GM.
