My hope for FA is that all the 30% max main guys: Kawhi, Kyrie, Klay, Kemba, Butler can make the most money by signing 1+1 deals this summer. They opt out next summer and can sign 35%max deals.

That gives us a 1yr viewing window to preview what Bron + 2nd max player A looks like. If it doesn't work, then we can revisit how 2nd max player B might look the following summer.

Also it still allows us a max slot to have AD walk into for 2020...which still enables us with max leverage in AD trade talks this summer.

We can also be looking at a coach that carries both hats in that they are coach and president....but why would Rob be hiring his boss...and that really didn't work out for Stan Van Gundy and Doc Rivers...plus this:

Why are we so confident about Kawhi all of a sudden? Did I miss something?

he's going to the Clippers or staying in Toronto

That leaves Kawhi, Kyrie and Butler as the options then right?

Butler isn't a bad get especially if we are able to bring in Davis too. He's just such a team cancer that you just have no way of knowing how well he will fit on a team at this stage. Talent wise though he's solid on both ends and brings it pretty much every night.

I don't hate it but I definitely wouldn't love it either.

I wouldn't say confident at all but I just don't believe in the Clippers and think he has no intention of staying in Canada. I'm aware of everything with the Clippers right now, but I've just got to see it actually happen to believe it.

It leaves everybody, except Boogie and KD since they both are already 10+ year vets this summer and dont need a 1+1 deal cause they already eligible to go full 35%max this summer.

I doubt any of the others that don't have opt-ins would consider the 1+1 though...they're all trying to lock in max dollars.

any chance that super fan asian dr or AEG or that Dodger group could come to the rescue and give the Buss family an offer they can't refuse?

btw-for all you season tickets holder, you guys should make some noise during the annual meeting (i assume there is one?) where mgmt address you guys. Speak up on this Rob issue and show your disappointments and threaten to cancel your renewals.

    Why wouldn't they?

There is roughly 35m in lost salary if Kawhi/Ky/Klay/Kemba/Butler sign 30%max 4 yr deals this summer vs 1+1 deals this summer to opt out and sign 4yr 35%max deals next summer.

This is why George is a dope for signing a 4yr 30%max contract with Okc last summer when a 1+1 would have been more lucrative. But then again, maybe health had a part in the decision.

Just put some of this in another thread.

Like I’ve said a few times, I love Jerry West but I’ll believe all the Clipper
    Talk when I see it.

Same. And our situation isn't great (understatement); that he just might end up re-signing in Toronto, but let's see. If they get bounced out before the Eastern Conference Finals, I think the likelihood he leaves goes way up.

Beyond that, I’m not shocked at all that The Rambis’s are running things. Jeannie is the worst kind of leader. Wants to be hands off and easily influenced

LeBron/Rich (Klutch Mafia) will spearhead recruiting; let's hope they succeed.

I think they can be. Definitely think the media is exaggerating guys potentially not wanting to play with LeBron

I can’t tell if we hit rock bottom yet, or we are just drilling right through the bottom into levels of embarrassment no one has reached before.
