Also this groundbreaking fight scene from the original Old Boy movie. It's not as powerful without watching the whole movie (which you should definitely do) but it has the same feel to it as the fight scene from Daredevil.

Just an incredible job in Daredevil though. Who would have thought THAT would come from a Marvel product?

All good fight scenes, but not at the level of raw visceral fightyness of this scene:

I was busy this past week so it took me a bit longer than I had expected, but I finally finished up Daredevil.

I don't even know what to say. It was damn great. If you're interested in superheroes, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe at all, then do yourself a favor and watch it.

I think real summed it up perfectly on the previous page. With all the hype around it, honestly I was a bit surprised to find myself a little disinterested half way through the season. But that's just because the series is so damn good that you're going to want to rush through it and some points might be intentionally slow to set up later events. At the end of the day, this is the pinnacle of a cinematic superhero universe.

I was really surprised at the ending. The way the rest of the season was set up, Fisk's enterprise was an absolute power. I would've thought that if that corrupt cop was going to be a loose string, Fisk would've known that and taken care of it ahead of time. But that singlehandedly took him down. But despite that, I thought that Fisk would pull some strings and end up on top at the end of the season. But that didn't happen. Yet Fisk is still relatively powerful and now he's pissed off. That last shot of him staring at the prison wall the same way he looked at his bedroom wall (which reminded him of the painting he bought from Vanessa/the wall he was forced to look at as his father beat his mom) was great. Kingpin is definitely just starting his reign and Daredevil might've pushed him into becoming an entirely different beast. Again, I don't know what happens in the comics at all, but that's just my opinion.

I have a lot of hope for Season 2. At least in the beginning, it looks like we'll have Daredevil fully equipped with his new uniform taking care of some basic street level crime with Foggy's help, while Kingpin and some other villains slowly regrow. I really like Karen's character and her relationship with Foggy and Murdoch, so it will be cool to see her eventually find out about Matt.

I genuinely dislike Karen's character! She's a good person but there's something so haunted about her. Everything around her falls apart. The actress did an amazing job of setting up a tragic character.

Karen is and if they keep close to the comics, a walking disaster. I really think she is a well crafted character and the actress is doing a great job. Perhaps it is because of what I do for a living, but I have a soft spot for her.

I think everyone kind of knows someone like this. Someone who is a good person, but has a rough past. Someone who is capable of manipulation even if it's unintentional and for what she perceives is the right reasons. She's very relatable, but the people I've known like her just bring trouble like a hurricane. I've been burned by the pretty girl with the power to inspire hope and sympathy before. It's a train wreck and knowing that I just want her gone from Matt and Foggy's life before something bad happens.

I have worked with "at risk youth" for a long time, and Karen is a dead ringer for many of my kids. Potential through the roof, but severely damaged. Some of the ones that can make it out of the system are still walking time bombs, who because of not being able to over come past trauma attract more trauma, both unintentially and like a trauma seeking missle.

I gotta admit, the one thing I disliked about Daredevil through almost the whole show was Kingpin. I thought his character was way too conflicted and unsure about his actions, but in the last episode, it all came together. This was the first season, and he was just kind of realizing who he is and what he wants to be.... a true villain with no pretenses or ulterior motives other than his own power.

Next season I expect him to be much more self assured and confident in his villainy.

It was definitely a quirk that I liked at first, but developed maybe too slowly. It came full circle and his character is about as deep and fleshed out as possible.

I think his next step is not just brutality but training. He was nothing but pent up rage. Now he needs to develop into a weapon both mentally and physically. His sheer power has proven not to be enough.

Incidentally I just finished reading Alias which is the Jessica Jones story. Purple Man is going to be a sadistic and really terrifying villain... it'll be a cool change of pace from Kingpin.

I felt like I wanted to see kingpin develop faster, but once he is "revealed" as he starts telling the story of the good Samaritan I felt it was more than worth the wait.

That story was fantastically told. Definitely one of the great moments of the series.

Now that I've finished, I'm still in the mood to watch some superhero stuff. So I'm going to try to rewatch all the MCU movies and watch Agents of Shield (for the first time) before Age of Ultron comes out. :D

Not sure how possible or rewarding that will be, but that's my plan for now.

Just be prepared for it to be horrible until the middle of the first season? After that it takes off and becomes really really good

"DAREDEVIL" GETS SECOND SEASON WITH NEW SHOWRUNNERS

Marvel.com has announced that "Marvel's Daredevil" will return in 2016 for a second season on Netflix, but this time around, a different team will be running the show: Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are set to take over from season one showrunner Steven DeKnight. Both Petrie and Ramirez worked on season one; Petrie as a co-executive producer and Ramirez as a supervising producer.

"While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch," DeKnight said in a statement. "They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."
DeKnight took over from original "Daredevil" showrunner Drew Goddard, who wrote the show's first two episodes. DeKnight, Goddard and Petrie are all veterans of working with "Avengers" writer and director Joss Whedon, each having worked on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." Prior to "Daredevil," Ramirez wrote for "Da Vinci's Demons," "Sons of Anarchy" and fellow Netflix original series "Orange Is the New Black."

Starring Charlie Cox in the title role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil, the 13-episode first season of "Daredevil" debuted in full on April 10, attracting nearly universal praise from fans and critics. The next Marvel-based Netflix series set to premiere is "Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones," expected later this year."
