It’s been announced that Jeanie, Rob and Luke will not be speaking to the press today after the exit interviews. Jeanie needs to get it together. The Lakers need a leader right now and if she wants to be it, she needs to start acting like it. She needs to make some kind of statement to the press. It can be the standard “we will explore all candidates, we believe in our team” yadda yadda but hiding out is not an option. We are already seen as weak and disorganized. Leaders step up in times of need. If she can’t do that, then she the wrong person for the job.

Now Jeanie needs to have someone with experience to help find Nunez's successor and a staff to go with that. Of course if she hires a new PBO soon, he can do that. If he stays, it had better be on the condition that he gets rid of his buddies and hires some real coaches with experience. He may be the kind of people person that everyone wants around, but technically he isn't very good at anything other than defense and that needs to change as soon as possible. Best thing Jeanie has done was get rid of her brother. She knows business, but not basketball. She can't keep the franchise positions in house/in the family. Doesn't work these days. Time to get with the times or let someone else who knows how this works to have control of the team. This is too prestigious of an organization for it to be the current punchline, revolving door, dumpster that it is today. Neither of her brothers, biological or self-claimed, could fix it. Time to look outside of Staples (unless you're bringing the Logo home) for help. Kurt Rambis isn't the answer. More power to Rob Lowe isn't the answer. Letting Bron's crew run it isn't the answer. No time to continue to get these type of decisions wrong. There is too much at stake this summer. Also, (read a tweet saying this and couldn't agree more) it is simply inexcusable that Greg Oden's brother--Bonga has spoken more about Magic Johnson leaving than Jeanie has. This is her team.
