I'm glad he's gone; timing sucks, but whatever.

this is my own personal feelings so no need to rebuttal me....I wouldn't have any issues with fans boo'ing Magic next season if/when he's in the building.

gotta separate the player from the coach, president, and person. these are different things.

magic was a great player (greatest?).
magic seems to be a pretty good guy, in general (pending whatever we may hear next...).
magic was a joke of a coach and a joke of a team president.

it's ok to hold these beliefs simultaneously.

glad we're moving on; wish it never happened; not optimistic that things are going to magically (rimshot) improve, though. it's going to take a long time to dig out of this--same way i felt when mitch and jim were dumped. did they deserve it? sure. was it a fix? nope.

Luke, modifying how he wants to play to accommodate LeCoach who complicated everything he wanted to do, is better than another placeholder like Lue. Luke will be like some of the players we blew out and will blow out that we will regret for a long time if we chuck him because of this season and the belief he too cannot continue to get better. Yeah rotations and schemes but in the big picture he continues to grow and players want to play for him which helps with FAs.

good coach adapt to anyone, 3yrs in and the O only got worse....get him out of here and enough with the bs of clearing out his asst. and only keeping Luke, thats NOT how coaching staff works. HC hand pick their asst cause they want to work with them, I've never seen a HC who had to work with asst. that weren't to his choosing/liking

NO SHOOTERS. Bron plays as he always wants to play. Injuries galore. Smash Bros. Adapt that.

luke probably has to go, but i don't think he's gotten a fair shot at all. much like magic found out about management, i think the armchair coaches might find that it was harder to get good offense out of this squad than it would be to get it out of...like almost any other.

and if he gets bashed for the offense, shouldn't he get credit for taking a team full of generally poor individual defenders and having them perform in the top 10 when reasonably healthy?

edit: or what he ^ said.

good coaches do adapt, but adaptation wasn't going to fix this frankenroster. honestly, good coaches would shy away from this job right now because they know that.

Oh right. None of those things affected what happened on the floor this year.

Offense wasn’t a problem last year with a bunch of 19-21 year olds. Luke has his flaws and there were numerous times this year I wanted him gone, but the report of the staff begging the FO to keep Randle and Lopez changed everything for me. If he gets fired, I won’t lose any sleep over it, but i won’t be upset if they keep him. Even with his shortcomings, he’s the only one that has handled the season like a true pro.

Team culture, players wanting to play for him, liked in the organization and around the league by everyone, improved wins every year >>>>>> still learning as young coach with rotations and Xs and Os. Detracters can't see forrest for the trees.

Luke helped increase the win total by +9 in each of his first 2 seasons. This season was a dumpster fire from the start and the FO clearly didn’t assemble the right team to support Lebron or the coaching staff.

Again, I’m not particularly high on Luke. I just believe that there’s enough info out there now to show that Magic and Rob signed who they wanted with no regard for the guys Luke wanted to fill out the roster. Let’s not forget the fact that there isn’t a single coach on the market that jumps out as a clear improvement.

magic is just the latest example of the fact that great players simply do not make great coaches or executives

with the logo being the only exception

These are pretty much my feelings, to be honest I wish he’d fire his assistants and get some solid guys around him to iron out some of his flaws, that and his rotations.

Good riddance. This isn't the kind of gig you can do half-heartedly. If Magic didn't want to put in the work, I'm glad he's gone. Pelinka needs to be flushed out to sea ASAP as well.

Can someone remind Jeanie we're the LOS ANGELES FREAKING LAKERS and go big game hunting?!? RC Buford, Sam Presti, Jerry West. These are the calls that need to be made RIGHT NOW (& not necessarily in that order).

Go get someone to run this show who's actually competent. This is not complicated, Jeanie. Are you capable of being a successful owner or not? It's put up or shut up time.

Not HARD to improve on wins when you start off with wins in the teens....:Lebronsmoking::Rondonod:
