    am i the only one who is kind of intrigued by howard?

    been an assistant under spo for a while now and knows lebron well. wouldn't be the worst choice for the job lets just say that

    I know zero about Howard as a coach, I can’t even comment because I literally know nothing except that he’s an assistant coach. What does concern me though, if there turns out to be any real smoke around this, is that Howard and Pelinka were on the Fab 5 Michigan team together and I don’t like looking for candidates that are old buddies over more qualified people.

    He's spent a lot of time with Spoelstra and does defensive stuff for the Heat so it might work. Being a former LeBron teammate and Pelinka buddy is a little worrisome, though. But I don't know enough to make a definitive statement. This really came out of left field.

    Biggest criticism of Luke is that he brought in his Arizona buddies over more qualified assistants. While I understand it to some extent, I don't want Pelinka and James to repeat the same mistake themselves.

    yeah i completely agree about not wanting to turn this team into an old boys club

    hiring guys based solely on past connections is a big no no

    Definitely a surprising name. I have to do some true research on Howard. I don’t mind giving an assistant a shot but I need to know more about him.

    A LeBron tie isn’t a bad thing IMO. Like it or not, Being able to work with and get the most from LeBron is a big part of this job.

    Overall I lean toward this being BS but definitely an interesting name.

    Luke has one more year left on his contract.

    So we're going to pay Luke not to coach, and the person we're going to replace him with is...drumrole...Juwan Howard. A coach we could get in 2020 when Luke's contract ends.

    If we don't get Kawhi or AD, the optics will look like Maginka are looking for a scapegoat instead of actually improving the team.
