We need a level headed guy from a personality perspective. Luke was at least that.

If we get a strong character, Magic will drive him crazy with his authoritarian style and consistent thoughtless comments in the media which means they will bump heads which will lead to another dumpster fire in no time.

    Imagine Thibs lol...

The problem is you need someone level headed who also isn't afraid of LeBron and will hold him accountable for his play.

This is a tough balancing act.

i also like monty williams. never really gotten a shot. i think he was unjustly dismissed in NO, iirc, much like mike malone in sacramento--taking the fall for bad management.

people may say the same about luke in a few years, tbh.

I would have liked to have seen this roster without Lebron this year to see how we'd do. So disappointing on so many levels.

We actually won more games percentage wise while Lebron was injured vs when he came back. I think we would have had a decent year without him overall. Probably still not make the playoffs but not making them anyhow with the King. At least there wouldn’t have been the drama.

With all the injuries we had, no way we would look better without Bron. Don't care what the numbers say ;)

Tough to say what not having Lebron would have meant. Seems like he might have been a reason PG13 didn't want to come here. If we have our kids with PG13 instead of Lebron and probably Julius Randle? That team is likely in playoff contention at the very least.

We could very well finish with a worse record than last season. If we close the season at 5-12 (a distinct possibility with Lebron now on a minutes restriction), we will have the same record as last season.

Please say no to Mark Jackson. He is a terrible, terrible person.

    https://elitesportsny.com/2018/04/17/new-york-knicks-mark-jackson-is-an-awful-choice-for-head-coach/

No to Jackson. No to Kidd. No to either of the antiquated Van Gundy's. And as Weezy mentioned, no to Lue. He needed to take some time in Cleveland due to stress and anxiety? Have fun in the second biggest media market and on the most popular team in the league.

Jay Wright isn't a bad choice.

Ettore Messina is someone we should have kept, but he's likely the Spurs heir apparent.

anyone thinking they'd be better without lebron is just wrong

not sure where to even start on that. they'd likely be around 20 wins at the moment without him

If true, then it may be somebody who's coaching contract is about to expire or a coach that's about to be fired.

Brad Stevens' deal with the C Bags ends after this season. Ditto with Gregg Popovich.

I also said no to Jackson for a reason he’s also IMO a terrible person that wasn’t even mentioned in that article.

BTW if you guys really after Magic admonished Luke, it was said that he received lots of calls from other coaches around the league who supported him...

I can easily see that not many coaches want to deal with Magic and LeBron unless they are currently jobless and just looking for a paycheck.

It's not worth it to join this circus when your boss and your best player are both d***heads.
