As a member I sincerely respect here. It will stop. Believe that! I'm going to discuss some propositions with the appropriate individuals. Anyways keep it moving...I'm going zero dark on the trolls. Y'all been put on notice.
Magic is incompetent. Since his playing career ended, he has been terrible at evaluating the game of basketball. I don’t trust his decisions when it comes to crafting a basketball roster. But he’s Magic Johnson. He’s a charismatic icon for the sport and a successful business mogul. He can still singlehandedly convince an elite guy to partake in the resurgence of the glorious Lakers franchise. He has a lot of culpability for the situation we’re in. But he gets another year, as he himself has stated. Recruit another star like Kawhi and all the weaknesses in our team fade away. Strike out on the high profile free agents and you’re exposed as a charlatan. I can really see it going either way.
Magic has to regain trust in the locker room again. Our culture right now sucks. He’s also got to prove to be a man of his word. Last season he asked Randle to lose weight and come into camp in the best shape his life. Randle did just that and played extremely well. What was his reward? He didn’t even match his qualifying offer and let him walk. This past summer he asked Lonzo to come back bigger and stronger. Lonzo responded, coming back noticeably more fit. What was his reward? He tries to trade him along with half the roster. I know it’s a business, but at some point he has to hitch his wagon to someone not name Lebron and roll with him.
he did it with Lebron but most said Lebron would've come regardless, so its questionnable to me in regards to your single handedly convince an elite guy comment, to me that remains to be seen this upcoming summer
Yeah. Lebron was just looking for competence in our leadership (which a lot of us our questioning at this point). As long as we weren't a dumpster fire, he was probably going to come here. He knew Cleveland was capped out and would only get worse. He had to leave, so why not leave to a place with millions and millions of fans and to a place where your post-basketball life will need to be for your ventures to thrive.
Was this posted today? Hear that Magic and co? Culture, coaching staff, drama free... Clean this mess up.
thought he handled the question pretty well, actually. said it's a media circus in la, and the team he went to had a good basketball situation without all the distractions. he's correct. he went short of saying the lakers are a disaster. instead he focused on what he liked about where he did go. he clearly made the right choice, and i can't believe we were interested in him. shows how little of an actual plan this FO has. he doesn't fit at all.
I think there will always be drama with the Lakers, that's just how it is. However, in the past we were able to still be successful.
Many of you guys talk about the aweful job Luke has done and he certainly does have his faults this year when it comes to rotations but this is just painful to revisit. *Click on the tweet to see the rest of the clips, part of this tweet thread* MY goodness that was both funny and alarming to watch those clips again.
I thinks it's pretty safe to say that if we had brought back Randle and Lopez we would be in the playoffs rather than the Lottery.
