Savs & Kb24: See this is what I don't understand about you guys. I'm the one with the conspiracy theories and plotting my pro-Lakers tilts on a f***ing Lakers site...not a cLippers...a Lakers site...yet y'all angling like we weren't s*** before and Magic just made us more tragic. According to you guys and your conspiracy theories, Bron was always heading to LA and it had nothing to do with Magic taking over the spot from Jimmy...yet what did Bron say after signing here? The FO stepped into s***. Our books were far from clean and our team was bad. We traded a future all-star in DLo for a future HOF star in Bron in that space. We also created the opportunity to have Bron partner up with a fellow star while allowing us to hold onto Jules in the process. You want to know why I'm pissed at Paula/Jules/Mintz...cause they hypocrites. They're hellbent on playing in LA and would love to play/learn with Bron, only to not make good on their word when we actually made it happen, costing us guys like DLo and Nance (one of my fav players btw). And what's more infuriating... actual Laker fans giving that group a pass to s*** on a LakerLifer like Magic. Wow! The FO obviously would prefer to start with a clean slate, but they cleaned up our books and gave Luke a chance to come good with his vision. They always have been angling for 2max guys here, yet all of you are calling for their heads prematurely, cause that hasn't been realized. If a skirt ghosts us to stay in OKC, how's that on Magic & Rob, if they made the necessary book adjustments to make that a reality? Y'all preaching that Magic/Rob sold too quick on a future all-star in DLo, yet y'all are perfectly fine with selling quick on Magic & Rob for making 2max (along with retaining Jules) a reality within a year of taking over. Constructive criticism? Nah...Hypocritical AF if you ask me. This roster has lost to bottom feeding teams, but when we were mostly healthy we were beating the dubs, Blazers, Jazz, Nugs, Rox, Spurs and Thunder. So tell me is that more Magic/Rob or Luke? Presti lost Harden and KD, yet he's a good GM. Why? Cause they ain't calling for his head immediately after s*** hits the fan. He traded for Paula & Melo and in year 1, 2 max guys were eliminated in the 1st round. Presti hired Donovan...you know the guy that made KD "burn" them bridges...and dude was outcoached in those playoffs even though OKC had more talent. That coach was Presti's hire...have Magic/Rob had that luxury yet? And yet a year later they one of the better teams in the West. They got healthy...they got stability...they got 2max players. And this s*** happens to good coaches too...the Spurs also made a trade and have 2max players, yet their playoff seeding is the one we're (marginally) threatening to steal away down the stretch. Should they prematurely blow it up? Y'all keep complaining tho and prematurely asking to blow something up thats already yielded fruit in its infancy. Y'all act like we had a play at AD (even if he came in 2020 after MozDeng came off the books), but choose to ignore the Klutch-KCP-Bron-AD konnection...but oh wait that's just another conspiracy theory, right?
nobody said Magic has to go at all cost....we all said the same thing, live up to that 2 max promise otherwise man up and leave like Magic stated....nobody gave Magic that 2 summer mandate, he did himself and if we held Jimbob to his time line, Magic should also be held accountable the same way.
So you're suggesting we should wait till the summer to see if he comes good with it...got it. Till then, maybe y'all should put those tissue boxes away and man up as well...right? You want to hold Magic to that standard, yet won't do the same yourself. #LakersBawl:WhereHypocrimazingHappens
No...just don't conspire against a team that hasn't been fully realized yet. And if you're going to complain..then at least come good with it. Calling me a nut for my beliefs on a Lakers site while you prematurely applaud another organization for the same approach....laughabawl.
ok here then -trade Zu for a scrub then proceeds to look for another C and none to be found -thinking what dots connected with Dj when NYK clearly stated they had no plans to buy out Dj -got embarrased by pelicants (who are an embarrasement themselves) cause Magic so thirsty to salvage his failures -signed a bunch of low IQ players thinking it would lead to good results....everybody knew Beasley was a bad signing from the start and sure enough... -as for Jules and PG, well neither owe s*** to Magic, Magic never once uttered Jules name when talking about the future young core, tried to get him on a qualifying offer (just cause Jules didn't get better deal doesn't mean we showed him love either), the Pg story is as he said he wanted to come but things changed and he liked his okc situation, that cant be blamed on him nor magic but the post results of Pg decision still looks like s***
You know my position on this...why do we have to keep going doing this road? It's constant retread in every goddamn thread with you. I'm more than happy to discuss stuff with you or any other FO denouncer...but be original about it... otherwise it's the same banter we've been bickering about for a minute. You want to criticize Magic? Do it after the summer/trade deadline if/when their vision isn't realized. Till then, the FO got Luke/Bron their small ball shooters with the possibility of signing Melo into the space we created. Make it work and if you can't, the FO will do something about it this summer and into next year's trade deadline.
Of course you can. I've criticized the FO too. I woulda went savage with Jules holding him hostage, instead of honoring him an out and not getting anything back for him. I woulda held onto TB/BLo. I woulda traded Zu for future pick compensation at the very least. All the other critiques of the FO, I find amusing tho. I only address what I find ridiculous: Zu calling out the FO...Bron running our organization...Luke hasn't contributed to this mess and it's all the FO...Melo rejecting us now.. you know, all the conspirey s***. Then folks come back at me with the same tired rebuttal (imo)...and it's back to a brutal retread...where, you in particular, need to get the last word in. So go ahead...do it again. You know my position...you've been knowing my position...but at this point, trolls do what they do. And you got me again...I'll try to ignore you till the summer, when we can have a new and fresh discussion. Till then, have fun trolln the FO and this site...
not trolling, just stating facts in regards to what I believe were failures, how those facts are interpreted seems to be different amongst folks here...but the record is what they are because of those facts, Luke sucks and that couldn't be controlled per se, but the roster construction didn't do Luke any favors.
I’m looking for 3 things from Magic this summer: - If he does trade for AD, not giving up the farm. I’m not opposed to doing that as I’ve said before, but with the recent play of Ingram/Kuz + Lonzo showing that he’s very valuable on the court + lottery pick, we are in a better place to negotiate a fair deal. - Signing a big fish. Yea you guys know the big names not the pseudo “stars”. This was his goal and this is what he needs to deliver - If the first point fails, get some top role players even if it means multiple years. This constant turnover of players is killing us right now. We need the top role players because I truly believe Lebron + the young kids + top tier role players is contender worthy. Top role players can be traded, top role players can take the next step (see Tobias Harris), do not shun these guys. Some nice shooting is needed. What I do not want to see is... Appeasing Klutch with KCP signings, scraping the barrel and kicking the can. Our young guy opportunity window is closing. Their new contracts are coming and then we are in a world of trouble if we don’t have the rest of pieces are in line and ready to roll.
that's what i want, too, but if the AD negotiations go south, rolling over the space has to be the most likely option. the ideal would be to take advantage of NO waiting for boston by courting kyrie hard and signing him immediately. this kills leverage in AD talks, pretty much cutting boston off at the knees. then i'm offering two of the three kids plus this year's pick and a lotto-protected 2021 pick for davis. if they don't bite, i just keep everyone and fill in with one-years as we did last year so that we're a threat to sign davis (via selling off youngsters for picks and space--totally do-able in time for summer 2020). but there are a lot of moving parts here. if we strike out on all big name FAs, i would hope to sign long term deals up to the point where we retain a max slot (or the ability to easily get there). i would even consider taking on salary dumps (lol, get mozgov back!). lebron made his bed.
Great take Doc and that's all I'm personally looking for...a critique without the veiled and completely weird and unnecessary hate towards a dude that gave our team 5 titles. Here's my fear...Kcp has achieved early bird this summer. What that means...he no longer can be a 1yr rollover stopgap option. If he signs a deal with us, it's for 2yrs minimum (no player/team options) at a pay raise of up to 175% of his previous bag (ie 21m) with an 8% annual escalator up to 4 years in total. The good news is that there is money to be had in the marketplace this summer...the bad news is he can get a whole lot more money with us...and if that happens, and some of y'all suspicions of Klutch comes true then the bawl'n around here will be at a all new high...and rightfully so haha. Btw JJ falls in the same category of Kcp, but with Philly tho. They're going to have to make some crazy decisions this summer as well. Abeer to accompany your suggestion, here are the #s...Let's say we roll over our cap space again into 2020...our books with Bron, Zo, Kuz, Hart, Moe, Bonga would be about 82m (with RFA BI's caphold, Dengs dead cap and an incomplete roster charge of 5)...which is 36m in cap space and enough for AD's 35.4m 30%max.
Good that sirron is no longer here, because I would have asked him to put a pile of s*** on Magic's head.
dude if they roll over the cap again for 19-20 season, I'm done....when was the last time we seen these 1yr signing work out?
Vash it seems like you ignore our main criticism completely. I'm judging this season and this season only. We are a failure to miss the postseason with the best player in the NBA, period man. This debate is pointless if you keep ignoring the elephant in the room. They failed to bring in good role players. They failed, no point in ignoring or sugarcoating this. Even every realistic Lakers fan knew it. The media knew it. Everyone except our brain dead idiotic gm.. "I think beating GS at their game is a trap". LMAO. Ya, thank God we didn't get trapped, we go fishing in April. Great. They gave away Randle for free while they should have traded him prior to the deadline. They brought in a bunch of knuckle heads with history of insanity. None of them could shoot, none of them addressed our weaknesses. None of them has a future here. Seriously if you love you some Magic, that's fine. Don't keep ignoring the fact that this season sucks. The Zubac trade was the straw that broke the camels back. I don't care about next season, I don't care about the old regime. This season is a major Fail... Fair and square.
The bigger problem is LeBrons age. This one year stuff has never worked for any team. The problem is you wait another year, LeBron is 36... In his 19th season. Good luck.
