It’s okay, this all ended up better for us in the long run.

Kyrie is obviously done in Boston, no point for AD to even bother resigning if he was traded there. If Danny was stupid enough to trade Tatum, they just lost a prospect for a rental.

If not, the Pelicans just lost all of their leverage. The only team that could come close to offering what the Lakers could are the Knicks and their lottery pick. Even then, the Lakers aren’t going to have to offer nearly as much as they were reported to at the deadline.

The Knicks offer should only beat us if they get the #1 pick. While Barrett and Morant are very nice prospects, Zion looks like the only sure thing.

Not to mention that if we miss the playoffs, we might be able to package our pick (10th?) and Lonzo to grab the Suns pick which could be close to the Knicks pick. Add Kuzma and Hart to that pick and it'll beat anything the Knicks can realistically offer. And we would get to keep Ingram. Lebron/Ingram/AD with roughly 23 million remaining in cap space. Split it between Terrance Ross, Patrick Beverly, and and Brook Lopez.

This is the optimism thread so that's my optimistic take. I don't actually believe any of this will happen.

Even then, he's hurt now, no a major injury. But it definitely shows he's human. His style of hyper athletic play isn't sustainable, one injury and he's toast. Granted, he's built like a tank, we have sure shot players already in the league.

We need to go on a run. Positive, at this point, is the team still has its fate in its own hands.

    I'm with ya, fam.
But #TeamTank is relentlessly trying to speak a top 5 pick into existence haha.

LVBD's approach for a top pick obviously has its benefits...but I think the kiddies in the playoffs on a national stage helps us much more...it helps them as trade assets or it helps them solidify their positions within our core if they remain.

Trying to stay positive here Boss, as much as I can, Lol ... They really are close to being a solid team sans the bonehead turnovers and rotations. Can't run Rondo for 40 minutes, stagger LBJ/BI minutes, cut the rotations down to 8 players, and bench players minutes based on defense. Hoping for a top 5 pick... not. Winners make it happen don't hope for it to happen.

And another one (DJ Khalid voice)

    BI/Kuz - 63 minutes, 43 points, 18-39 FG, 14 reb, 5 ast, 1 block

    Tatum/Brown - 58 minutes, 23 points, 8-26 FG, 11 reb, 4 ast, 5 steals

Best 10 point games this side of the Mississippi.

I mean, look - it's obvious Boston's package is not better than ours. Not to mention the dude does not want to go to Boston.

Disclaimer: I'm not calling out anyone in particular with this. Condescending undertones are present and if you don't like it, don't read it....

As of late, staying positive around here means you're a homer conspiring against being a realistic Laker fan that mandates you s*** on our current direction.

By all means everybody has the right to question our forecast, but if you see sunny days on the horizon, make sure to pack the aluminum along with an umbrella and rainboots.

Making personnel decisions based off a human element/player relations means you're a tinfoil wearing hack. Yet theorizing that KlutchMafia/Bron runs the organization and that they're out to bury his current teammates isn't wearing a cap of the tin variety in any way.

Bron/Magic are wrong in throwing this team and Luke under the bus (allegedly), while fans can throw this team and Luke under the bus (actually) with no problem.

Hey different strokes for different folks. Apparently different dictionaries for different folks as well, cause I've been told this is not classified as hypocrisy. Heresy then? Or am I f***ing up that definition as well?

Maybe we're bringing this all unto ourselves. Cause doesn't it go something like....

Damn Luke's trolln us hard. You s*** on him from the jump and then act surprised when he gives you s*** right back?

Unlike Luke tho, our FO hasn't been given the appropriate time. If y'all want to s*** on em not even 1yr into the Bron experience after they cleaned the s***, then that's no better than criticizing them for selling too quick on DLo. Which is it...give it time, or impulsively react to some adversity?

Media stays conspiring against us...no wait, that would be a conspiracy theory. My bad.

The real is that we're homers that shouldn't expect the media to swing their propaganda. If they say we trash, then we consume their trash and regurge trash takes. Taintum a gawd and cured Magic's HIV....but then gave it back to him cause he ended up drafting Zo instead.

Anyways, I'm "positive" noone sees this cause during these times optimism is trash. I mean how can you have any...these guys are like the last ones that stuck us with MozDeng type contracts in Kcp, Lance, Rondo, McG....oh, what's that? They come off the books this summer and we got a max slot with a 26 year old superstar that wants to strongarm his way here, and kids that have the potential to be studs for us if they're not traded for him.

Yep... nothing to be hopeful about.

This Season has been a tough transition, but I'm super optimistic about our position heading into this offseason.

The Internets can pull confusion out of clarity in a New York minute ...Bosses’ know they’re stuff and are cool with me.... Been a Laker fan for over thirty years, and have chosen to be a life-long advocate of optimism. With that said it’s painful to watch a solid team constantly shoot themselves in the foot needlessly and consistently. Part of it is not being able to develop into a team due to a rash of injuries, poor execution and roster mis-management. However, SIMPLE things like playing hard and smart from the start of games would have us well over a .500 record. Looking forward to a strong finish but tired of the circus of pushing playoff mode buttons, activating activation powers, stress of trade deadlines, movie deals, Instagram roasts, daddy issues, and a whole litany of other distractions. Play hard and smart and we’ll have a playoff team to root for.
