Yet Magic brought in Bron. Plus it doesn't really matter that players respect Kob..it's they mommas that love Magic. No free agents wanted to play with Kob tho...not even good friend Melo. Heck even Pau left Kob...but imo that was more cause the FO disrespected dude and let MDA do the same. So although I agree Kob has respect from this current crop, he'll be the first to tell you he ain't into giving pitches. As far as asset management, Kobe wanted to trade big for small with Bynum for Kidd. Knowing how Dwight turned out, sounds like a good trade now....but still a cardinal sin to ship a big a** out for a small one. #A**etManagement Btw, seeing how you're a Jules guy, I seen alot of Byron giving critiques to Magic about DLo and Jules. Ever occur to some of y'all that Kob had a critique too? DLo traded...Jules offered a QO...juss sayin'.
LOL at least Kobe wasn't trying to get Bynum traded for a bag of chips. Our current regime would have thrown in Odom as well because he was playing too good.
Previous FO threw in LO in the Cp3 deal as a salary dump...especially cause they didn't even need LO's salary for salary matching purposes for a legal trade...hello bag of chips. Lakers would have gotten the best player (Cp3) and shed salary in the process..it sure ruffled some feathers and that's why the other owners were salty & sour AF about it ...hello Ruffles salt & vinegar. Zu was a bad deal...but in terms of players it's tear-jerkingly laughable to equate Zu to LO (the reigning 6th man of the year at the time)....hello Funyuns.
You brought up Odom...fact of the matter, our previous FO dealt him for a bag of chips (a trade exception and a heavily protected draft pick that never conveyed). That magic wand doing all kinds of tricks...."now you see the 6th man of the year, and now you dont"...or my personal favorite, "and in 7 seconds or less I'll make his Achilles disappear"...hello Pringles...once you pop (that mustached MFer in the face) you can't stop. To Kob's credit he was hot about it tho..he thought the FO cheated his boy out a Lakers jersey...hello Flaming Hot Cheetos.
I work with the material/feedback I'm given. #ImaPeoplePleaser #PlusImAllAboutThatCheese...HelloDoritos
Again, you're drifting and bringing up the previous regime, which has nothing to do with the hypothetical of Kobe vs Magic as our Team President. All the big name FA's --- Klay, Kawhi, Kevin, and Kryie --- look up to Kobe. They've all worked out with Kobe and they seek advice on the phone all the time. This has been well-documented and knowing how relentless Kobe is, I don't think he'd have a problem bringing in one of them in free agency. Asset management has been a disaster for Magic. Just this season we've lost Randle, BroLo, Zubac for nothing. They weren't even a salary dump. Innf*****excusable. How much worse can it get? Hopefully we'll get something back for Ball, Ingram and Kuzma, but I'm not holding my breath.
Kob by proxy is already part of the FO. If Rob needs a solid, you think Kob says no? In terms of this team and where Kob stands on it: he approved of Bron and Rondo coming in. He also wouldn't freak out if a less than one year project isn't working out: And since you brought up Jules... Luke "mistreating" Jules by not making him a starter...I'm sure Kob would also tell y'all to "relax".
Awesome article... I seriously have a man crush on this guy... https://theundefeated.com/features/kobe-bryant-on-his-new-sports-fantasy-series-the-lakers-and-zion/
Watch this and appreciate true greatness Look at some of the lineups Kobe was playing with the ghost of Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Earl Clark, and Robert Sacre butthurt Dwight, aging MWP, the corpse of Jamison, Jodie Meeks Wow. Amazing stuff.
Lol look at all the defenders he drew.. man I miss that footwork, what a fun time to be a Lakers fan that was.
