The D-Lo dump really hurts now but at the time, I understood the move, so I can't be mad about it now.

The moves that hurt are the following:

Trading Lou for 28th pick (turned into Hart and TB, whom we cut) - imagine this team with Lou instead of Hart...
Drafting Lonzo over Fox/Tatum (we worked out Fox, and didn't even bother working out tatum...bought into Hype of Lonzo....I believe he can be good but durability is a real concern)
Cutting Thomas Bryant and keeping Zu (whom we dumped later anyway)
LISTENING (key word) to Randle and his agent and renouncing his rights (we had the leverage...should have told Randle to shut up and play ball and not let him force his way out)
Letting Brook Lopez walk to Milwaukee for $3M and signing Beasley instead (whom we ended up dumping later anyway)
    Signing Lance Stephenson
    Signing Rondo
    Signing McGee
    RE-SIGNING KCP
    Trading Zu for Muscala

There's a lot we could have done better but these other moves (and non-moves) really really set us back and put us in this current situation we have now.

If I'm going to blame anybody the MOST for what's happened right now...I'll say the FO for constructing this roster.

Saw a post elsewhere that got me thinking and kinda made me sad. Replace Lebron with: D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Paul George.

Even with that pick the Lakers got from Brooklyn, it was likely the Lakers get Kuzma anyway, just wouldnt have Josh Hart. Lakers may need to make a decision this summer to stop going for the homerun and start building the team.

Pg wasn't coming since we didn't trade for him and he liked Russ, its not cause of James.

Common sense said Bron wouldn't come alone. Never had before.

Common sense said tampering charges that stuck, a friendship/mentorship with BShaw, a desire to be like the Mamba, being "hellbent" to come home meant that no matter how good Russ's D was, Bron's would be better. Being bounced in the 1st round by an upstart Utah team shoulda been the final heel in the coffin. Instead, it's Russ's "prostate exam" that's got her cough'n.

Nah, common sense tells me y'all cynical AF. And honestly, I can't blame y'all. Since #BasketballReasons, it's been hepta-gone Achilles-less instead of the triangle...it's been Coward instead of forward...it's been MozDeng instead of now starring. I get the pessimistic cynicism.

What I don't get is the hypocrisy. Our FO isnt without blame. But applauding another for what we successfully have done...nah, I can't f*** with that.

In terms of AD, the previous bball ops acted in bad faith...and they got fired...not in the summer...like right f***ing now.

Their new bball ops could also act in bad faith...or they act far differently than how their predecessors acted...you know, cause they want to keep their jobs.

IF the owners of the pelicants really wanted our deal they would've over ridden Demps effort or lack there off. Some people just dont wanna accept facts....GM/Pres will change but its still the same dam owner

just in case i wasn't clear: there have already been rumblings that NO will consider mike zarren, the C Bags' current assistant gm, to oversee the davis trade.

I mean, it's not me being cynical. None of those things you named (achilles, basketball reasons, Dwight) have anything to do with why I don't think someone is signing here this offseason. And to be honest, this Lebron James trying to trade the team for another dude circus made KD's comments about the toxicity of a LBJ team tangible to other stars considering the Lakers. And while breaking down the common sense argument, you didn't refute anything I said as it pertains to why none of the big free agents are signing wit us. You just clarified why George didn't sign with us.

Meanwhile Zo has yet to publicly check his pops.

It's possible to defy your parents, but until proven otherwise, this generation of ball players haven't really shown that they can.

As for the Zarren thing...that's cool. You also have David Griffin aka a known Bron apologist as an early candidate as well. Hey, but do you.

It was reported by some at the time when he himself and Mintz were trying to force the trade to us that he "didn't want" the roster gutted for him. It was him that changed the narrative after he told RW he couldn't quit him.

oh I'm not dissolving Pg of any blame, but I didn't agree with OX premise that PG would've came had we not signed James in this thread.

After seeing LeBron and his baggage and MO turn into "they are who we thought they are" proven status with the Lakers too .... I'm more inclined to agree with that premise than not. LeBron wasn't here when PG had the hots to come home. Allegedly.

Yeah there's the timeline but it's possible the inside scoop amongst the players and whoever else was clear LBJ was coming. As well it could be just liking RW and OKC too much to leave.

i firmly believe davis's father doesn't want him in boston. i could be convinced that davis's actions at the deadline indicated a disinterest in joining boston as well. what i'm not sure about is whether boston or new orleans care.

as you mentioned, the only guy to get moved with one year left then bolt when his team still wanted him was dwight. away from us.

even you seem to have given up on leonard joining the lakers next summer--after he mentioned us and tried to force a trade. it's just not a high likelihood event. not to mention that we'd have to punt ANOTHER season to get AD in 2020.

Yeah. I mean, is the almost decade of sucking worth a two year window of Anthony Davis and a geriatric Lebron James?

So if Bron to LA was the worst kept secret for roughly a year....Kawhi wanting to be traded to LA - preferably the Lakers - in June, after the Lakers opened up enough cap for a maxed out Bron and to take on salary in a trade at the trade deadline...is that common sense that Kawhi has absolutely no interest in linking up with Bron?

Then there is this from Bron's camp...BEFORE he opted out to become a free agent and choose the Lakers in free agency...

Then there is the pic of him working out with LABron after he got traded to Toronto.

Not to mention there's one with Pelink...uh the Mamba too...

Then there's the allstar game where Kawhi is on #TeamLABron and it sure seems like he enjoys playing with other stars...

Kawhi is a wild card...no one knows what he wants to do. So you saying for sure not the Lakers, while me saying the Lakers are very much possible...holds no weight either way and shouldn't till pen hits paper this summer.

KD: was in that aforementioned pic...was picked first in allstar by TeamBron 2 years running and is besties with Ky, an on again off again Bron guy. And we don't have a 38m max slot available just by accident.
KY: still in talks and in good standing with Bron
(for the record, I think both these guys end up with the Knicks tho)

Klay: I thought it was weird that Klay's named was dropped when AD first demanded a trade and it was insinuated he was Lakers bound...plus it seems he thinks of Bron in a good light..

As for AD, all signs point to the Lakers. Nawlins can be spiteful, but then again, that tactic didn't really help them out in the short term either and heads obviously rolled...so we meet back at the table with different folks actually answering the phone and we have ourselves a conversation this summer.

Either way, folks will believe what they want. That being said, looking at other franchises as the grass is greener while looking to our own team as Doom&Gloomer screams hypocrisy to me. Its that s***, that I don't believe in.
