That doesn't make sense just because we're pissed to no end. Mitch and Jim likely never would have gotten LBJ or any all star here for years unless our kids all blew up this year or next even.
No worries, Mintz. Btw sorry we couldn't grab your boy out Phx. Sarver is more of a hatin a** than you are. Also, you're welcome for the 5 titles for the Lakers, but let me guess... you probably stopped being a fan of ours when we "mistreated" your client. Btw, not maximizing their bag to "feed their families" should count as mistreatment as well, right? Anyways good luck next summer. Now proceed to... #BawlOut
I mean didn’t Magic put that timetable on himself though? He said if something like if we don’t have 2 stars or we aren’t competing again in 2 seasons then I should be fired. If we don’t land one this summer via free agency or trade then he has indeed failed. Landing LeBron James doesn’t mean much in the end if you can’t even make the god damn playoffs with him because all the other moves around him were so bad. We won 35 games last year, and at the moment we don’t look like we’re going to improve upon that by the 15+ I expected, not even close.
I don't blame Magic for AD, George or even Jules. But DLO, Lopez, Zubac and all these d****** signings are a real head scratchers. Waiting for Kidd to take over... and i'll be the first one with Magic garbage sign.
^well I do blame him for George. Not that he didn't give us a meeting. But because we refused to part with ANYTHING when George was available...and then gifted the same assets away. Had we offered Russell, Randle and a couple of picks he would be a Laker now. If he had no plan to keep those around, might have just gave them away. If you say Indy wanted the #2 pick that turned into Ball..then **** year, have it. The only reason George is not a Laker is because of Magic's overconfidence and misscalculation. Was it a gamble worth taking? Not if you were going to give Randle , Russell, Nance etc. away for free. Then it wasn't worth a gamble. Also while he tried everything to get AD, the fact that EVERY friggin aspect of that trade was discussed so publicly, shows the Lakers (as well as Pelicans) leaked information. You see Dallas gets Zinger or Philly gets Tobias Harris...you don't hear ANYTHING and then they are final. No matter what the Lakers try, its all over the place on the net. Did the Pels want to stick it to the Lakers and leaked information? sure. But there is no question that our management is leaky.
I feel it necessary to remind you that DLo was traded during Paula's trade demand. Floating his name to Indy was most likely explored and rebuffed. Why? Pritchard wasn't the biggest fan of Mintz/Paula with the trade demand, even imploring the league to conduct a tampering probe. So isn't it a safe assumption that Pritchard was in no rush to acquire another Mintz client in a Paula trade, which both DLo and Jules were. Also looking back last summer...Indy had nearly 25m in cap space, yet no offer from Pritchard or no attempt to contact Indy from Mintz when Jules suddenly became available as an unrestricted free agent. You can't trade with an unwilling participant. Also what was our final offer to Indy? Has it been widely published? What was our final offer for Kawhi? Again anybody really know? Meanwhile, we certainly do know almost every detail of the AD proposal, down to LA possibly stretching Solomon Hill to create cap this coming summer. After Magic stated the Pels acted in bad faith, Demps was fired even though it was widely insinuated that Demps would lose his job had he dealt with the Lakers. So he got fired for doing what he was told to do...weird! I'm not saying the Lakers don't have a leak (see Luke admonished by Magic)...but so did the Pels. Who does it benefit when our entire package is made available on public domain? The cbags certainly know now what type of proposal was declined by the Pels.
the reported initial offer was Randle/Clarkson for Pg and maybe a pick but that was never substantiated...seeing Magic reported offers since then, I tend to believe that was really offered. Pelicans leaking the offer wasnt for Bos sake, its more to embarrass Maginka and cause the locker room issues which seems to have worked
Letting Brook walk was a head scratcher. Anybody with a brain could see that Lebron has always needed a floor spacing big. Brook wanted to stay closer to home in LA and Magic and Rob let him walk.
Not initially surrounding Lebron with shooters overall is a head stratcher. There's not much point in trying to mess around with a formula that has worked for 8 years now.
Yeah what's really comical were the times when Lonzo was healthy and on the floor with LeBron playing point guard since he's always going to revert to what he likes and Lonzo was sent down to the corners to spot up. LMAO. Have to agree with a-Hole on that. That said, what's Luke supposed to say, "No LeBron we're not doing that"?
doesn't feel like too long ago magic and rob came in and it felt so good thinking this team was about to finally start making strides and start making its way back to the top fast forward a couple years later and nothing has changed. real crappy feeling
Magic is an all time great player but he must still think this is the 80s n teams can just grit/grind themselves into wins w/o good shooting. all his vet signing look like a** right now
