not even sure why kobe, magic, etc. are doing anyone besides lakers a favor with these training stuff, especially with the hating/tampering the rest of the league wants to accuses us off.
yeah, lots can change between now and the summer, but i'll be really surprised at this point if davis ends up in boston long-term....maybe even short-term. the media may have overplayed their hand here, making davis look like he doesn't know what's best for him and that boston has pretty much been renting-to-own him for three years. C Bags playing the lebowski nihilists: "but she cut of her toe! it's not fair!". we can only hope we end as walter.
Magic needs to watch what he says though, I know he’s personable and that’s part of his charm, but he has got to stop volunteering information that’s getting us investigated
I wonder if magic's doing it on purpose. The lakers are back on everyone's mind all this time--eventually, that will be good for business.
I don’t think Magic is that clever in this regard or thinking that far ahead, I think he just can’t help himself and can’t shut up. Eventually this is gonna cost us a draft pick or something. At least the Bucks guy got fined too finally.
Get your info right: 500k for Rob tampering with Paula/Mintz 50k for Magic saying Giannis will bring a championship to Milwaukee one day 50k for Rich going on record to request AD's trade demand 600k that doesn't impact our books in any way. Meanwhile... Jimmy/Mitch: 4yrs 136m for MozDeng Tell Mr Irwhine to STFU and seriously why even quote such a laughable take. Even Brand is saying it's a non-story: Again, Magic isn't perfect and I'm not going to shield him if hes really wrong...but a fine ain't s*** to him or us. And if the media picks up a Lakers story, particularly Woj, then there's already a spin to it...Laker fans should know better. #KeepTalkingThatS***Magic #ItsFineWithMe
I mean, teams already refuse to deal with us, so why not go full Monty? Flaunt that we're the prime destination. Grow another crop of kids who think it's lakers and then the rest.
I’ll quote whoever I want. I enjoy the Locked on Lakers podcast and Irwin’s tweets. Their calling out of Woj was fantastic, and Magic should be called out too. He’s not Magic one of the greatest players and friendly ambassador, ear to all players who seek it anymore, he’s Magic the Lakers president of basketball operations and he needs to act like it. Being investigated for tampering every few months is embarrassing, as is having your trade negotiations play out in public almost real time. This front office has never done this before and it shows, other teams are making us look bad in that we keep giving up too much in small deals too.
So in today's orange climate, you're saying Magic needs to act like the president of bball ops... But he is tho: Ben Simmons contacted the Lakers to speak with Magic this summer. Magic said he can't do s*** till all parties agree to move forward with it. What's the f***ing the problem? This isn't even Philly calling up the league office on Magic. It's some petty team that has a grudge with the Lakers, Bron and how Klutch operates. They probably sent in a request and now it's an investigation. Much ado about nothing... Till Mr. Irwhine wants to bring up Jim Buss...then it's much adoo-doo about nothing (that one's for you, Sirron). #NothingFineWithThatTweet
I'm torn on this. On one hand, maybe he shouldn't bring this sort of attention to us right now. On the other, teams will cry foul no matter what we do. It's possible he's just trolling and telling the public that a young star has reached out to learn from him, but his team won't let him do it. Ultimately, I really don't care. As @vasashi17 said, there are a lot of petty teams out there that will do whatever it takes to keep us down. If we're going to be the villain, we may as well have some fun with it. Also, Steve Ballmer is a guest on KD's new show tonight. If this is tampering, then that sure as hell is too.
If we're ok with Magic playing the villian full force and repping Lakers, dont complain when teams like the Pelicants do what they do in terms of trade negotiations.
That Bucks owner getting investigated for his Anthony Davis comments or.... Ahh it’s not the Lakers. I keep forgetting this. Magic is on the Lakers so it makes sense we are getting investigated and not them. Woj is probably having a meltdown searching for anything he can stick to Magic about this. Hopefully Ainge feeds him and brings him in when it’s cold.
You know damn well they fined him so they can hit Magic with the current Ben Simmons thing. You fine Magic now but not the Bucks? That'll just cause an uproar.
Exactly! No one called foul on Morey with the Cp3 deal, but damn everyone knew it was tampering: Morey won Executive of the Year later that season. And one month after we sign Bron, dude says this... No fine... And that's fine. But how can two different organizations speak on a player under contract and only one gets fined for it? Shaq has ownership stake in the Sacramento Kings and can openly speak on players and franchise personnel decisions every Thursday. And we're all cool with it...but when Magic says something... #WhataJoke Btw...
