Look at the stats; we are a worse team without Zo defensively; he covers for a lot of our mistakes defensively as well.

He's a high IQ kid who thinks the game, reads plays beautifully, has size to switch, can defend the post, his length can deflect passes, get steals, etc. He matters a lot...

I know you want to blame Luke; but missing Zo here hurts a lot, period.

    These are all excuses

Luke is running out of chances to make the necessary changes or adjustments.

Utah sucks without gobert. Fire Snyder? He's just one guy.

The gulf between lonzo and rondo on d is one of the biggest possible. Yes, we're going to suck defensively for weeks. I think it's part of why Luke changed the lineup, though I disagreed with the change. Just gotta lean into outscoring folks until lonzo's back.

We competed repeatedly cutting the deficit to single digits until the wheels fell off... On to Atlanta.

Keep your argument straight: you said one player can't impact a defense like that, suggesting that means it's a bad scheme. Is utah's scheme bad?

Stats from this year indicate that lonzo impacts our d like that, which is why us being s*** on d of late a) is not surprising, and b) will likely continue.

I keep reading the notion that Luke has no system, but last I checked a good system should be built around the personnel and not the other way around. So when we miss key pieces on offense (Rondo, Lebron) or defense (Zo, Ingram) the team will struggle in those areas. I don't think there's a versatile "plug and play" system out there that works seamlessly with any player, unless you've been running it for ages like the Spurs, and even then it's efficiency is lost as the talent level and familiarity of the system decreases. We've only had a full team for like 1.5 months this year, so I'd give it more time.

Triangle was not made for MJ and Kobe Bryant. Shaq, yes, but not MJ and Kobe. And we see how that went.

Zo is elite on D , Josh energy is important too.

You replace them with Rondo and Lance who are ATROCIOUS defenders .

    What do people expect ?

Luke called game for the Sixers in the 3rd when he took out Bron , BI and Kuz all at the same time though . Another head scratcher decision ...

Beat ATL , get some rest and get healthy during the ASG ...

So you want us to run the triangle? Sure, it worked well but consider that the players you brought up are the 3 best offensive forces of all time. We could have the masterminds themselves (Tex + Phil) implement the triangle with our personel and we'd be decimated. I could assure you that much.

Zo is like preventative salve. His kenetic defensive presence keeps the opposing offense from comfortably geting into their sets. Our real defensive issue all year long has been interior defense. We consistently get pounded and beat up down low and seem to consistently give up easy buckets and allow key second shots. Kuzma is a scoring savant but is a liability and outmatched on defense. He and LeBron (who never has been a dog down low .. see Udonis Haslem,Tristen Thomposon) together without an elite stout defender at center (McGee is a rim protector only) are a problem.

    Wmc: Paula

Cause she ball'n (even tho it's the regular season)

Encouraged our FO to create 2 max spots (one for Bron & one for her and as a result DLo and Nance were causalities)

Created a divide within the fanbase #IcedBalls

Probably encouraged Jules to ask for an out

Single handedly drove the narrative for other teams encouraged to swoop in and steal a potential Laker bound player in hopes of persuading them to stick before free agency

Instigated this whole tampering bulls*** in the 1st place

I dislike you Paula...Hope you get bounced unceremoniously in playoffs...like last year.

^ Is it really necessary to call him Paula, it's really childish

Get over it...he changed his mind.
