Interesting: Nick has a history of missing long periods of time, though. Not that I don't believe you, but apparently, it's the same knee that caused him to miss games last year, man. Don't get me wrong; if he's being sat out intentionally due to the 'tank', great. If he gets hot 1 or 2 of these games, it could hurt.

Let's go back 5 years, though: in 2010-11, he missed 18 games; in 2011-2012, he missed a total of 20 games; in 2012-2013, he missed 23 games, and last year he missed a total of 18 games. This year he's on pace to miss 40. He was out earlier in the year for about 9-10 games with a wrist injury...

Here's the news. Not great for Swaggy.

    YOUNG HAS SMALL KNEE FRACTURE

The end of the season can’t come soon enough for the Lakers, who learned Wednesday that guard Nick Young has a small fracture in his left knee cap and will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis.

Young hopes he will not need surgery and that the fracture will heal with rest. According to Arash Markaziof ESPNLosAngeles.com, it’s uncertain if Young will play again this season:

Young has missed the last 11 games with a swollen left knee and has no played since the Lakers beat the Boston C Bags 118-111 on Feb. 22.

“Nothing,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said when asked what Young was able to do at practice. “He signed some autographs, went back in and got some treatment and that was about it.”

Young is averaging 13.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 23.8 minutes over 42 games this season.

Young did not practice on Wednesday but was sporting a new hairstyle he said was inspired by Kid ‘n’ Play and Jamie Foxx.

“I felt like it was time for a change,” Young said. “I was watching Kid ‘n’ Play at home and then I started watching Booty Call and I said Jamie Foxx has a nice hairstyle I want to try so that’s the inspiration behind it.”

Scott wasn’t a fan of the hairdo, saying it looked like Young lost a bet.

“It looked like a bunch of worms up there just running around,” Scott said. “When I first saw him I started cracking up, laughing.”

Nick's hairstyle is 1/3 of that article. That might sum up why I don't care if he's traded.

I just wrote this up about Swaggy and what his rough season means for the Lakers. Check it out! Hopefully he gets back on track next year.

I was watching some interview with worthy and young on the time Warner Lakers channel the other day. wothy suggested he play more off ball like Reggie Miller, expanding his game to more than just iso-chucking. young smiled and nodded. then worthy asked him what " swaggy" means. Nick said something along the lines of "playing how I want to play. not letting anyone try to change me."

He needs to gtfo. Too much negative vibe surrounding this clown. Complete opposite of the Lakers culture Byron (and Worthy for that matter) is trying to implement.

Can't wait for young to be traded. I've always hated Young. Don't like him or his game.

He's the kind of guy that thinks he's better than what he really is. I wouldn't mind keeping him but I wouldn't be against trading him.

He's not in a bad contract, but I think it will take an incentive for a team to sign him. If we get our lottery pick, I wonder if we could move and or attach a draft pick to get somebody more suitable that can fill a need. A more of a 3 and D type of player...

What do yall think swaggy's value is? Might have better luck moving up in the draft with him and the HOU pick instead of Hill and the pick. I could see a team like the Suns (13th pick) interested in his services. That'd allow us to get Dekker.

Honestly I'd rather have Dekker and bring back Ellington as Kobe's backup. Cheaper, better team oriented player, and doesn't cause any waves.

I'm a 100% against trading Young, unless it's in a deal for to get a superstar player.

Nick Young is a lot like JR Smith in that when they are on a bad team they can be a headache, but when on a good team they seem to thrive.

If you are the Lakers and plan on being competitive again, Young at his price is an awesome 6th man and a perfect piece off the bench. Ask CLE if Smith is a headache right now.

I don't see how dumping a guy because he doesn't get along with a crappy transition coach gets us any closer to being competitive again. And if we use a pick to do it, Lord help us....

In fairness, when has young been on a good team for you to see him thrive?

As long as Scott is head coach, Nick will never be a good fit here in Los Angeles. If he's here next year, they'll continue to be clashing, Nick will sulk, Byron will criticize in the media, and it will get worse and the relationship will deteriorate even further...

Only trade in a package for a player who can improve our team. Otherwise, no.
