Okay, I know the dude has been playing well as of late (a fact I learned on this site no less) but Russell is better than Jimmy Butler now?

We all voted to let him stay for purely entertainment purposes.

But he won't always make sense.

    He's from the short bus.

    2019 top free agents:
KD (only 35%max player available), Kawhi, Kyrie, Kemba, Klay, Butler, Boogie

Team that can add both 35%max and a 30%max:
    Knicks

Teams that can add up to a 35%max player:
Sac, ATL, Indy, Chicago (if they opt out of Parker's team option), cLips (if they renounce Tobias's 22m caphold), Lakers

Teams that can add up to a 30%max player:
BK (could make room for KD if they renounce DLo's 21m caphold), Philly (if they lose Butler in free agency)

All the hometeams could keep their free agents, but IF they don't, you got 7 marquee free agents and potentially 3 could be going to the NY market. So there could be potentially 4 free agents to divvy up among the 4 available spots in big markets (Philly, Chicago, both LA teams)

Kemba - overrated, Boogie - injured, Buckets - stupid. I'll take any of the other 4 (even though i despise Durant).

    Per Lowe:

If you can get Vuc and reroute him to Nawlins, they could be more interested in that type of package.

You can also expand it to include Gordon (small market team friendly deal), but would Zo's camp sign off to Orlando or cause a stink of it?

If nothing happens with a AD trade by the deadline and we end up keeping all the kids.... DeAndre Jordan on a buyout MUST be the top priority for us to sign.

He’s a capable defensive anchor and it certainly helps our center rotation. DJ starts, McGee backs up and Zubac/Chandler are insurance policies.

Most importantly, DeAndre’s Free throw percentage is 35% better than Lonzo’s, so he can also be Lonzo’s shooting coach in practice

Orlando seems like the perfect eastern conference partner for us in our AD endeavors. And maybe we can get Ross out if it too

I would cut Beasley and Lance if we can sign DJ and Wes Matthews

Interesting. I have been following the ORL story for past few weeks. PHX has been drooling for Lonzo. Now hearing NO talking about moving Holliday. If NO really felt pressure I could see a massive deal working. I think NO does not want to move him at all until this summer. So, I will sit and watch nothing happen and hope that our injury woes stop and the team that beat the Warriors on xmas day comes back before they are too far out of the 8 slot.

Get PHX and/or NY involved to take Lonzo and you might have something.

AD and DJ. Sheesh. That’s some rim protection.

but from several accounts DJ has slipped quite a bit this year.

If he comes, it won't be as a max FA IMHO

He's a great Plan C if the plans for max free agents don't work out, and I would hope it would be in conjunction with other great complimentary players.

Knicks would be wise to buy him and Wes out, if they want to tank fro Zion.

I mean if he wants to take the vet minimum, I guess we could do worse.

DJ shares the same agent, Schwartz, and agency, Excel Sports Management, as TyChandler, BI, trade target Reggie Bullock, FA target Kemba and rumored coaching target JKidd....so all things considered, he's not only a FA mark this summer, but a likely buyout candidate for us as well.
