We need a 3rd team to facilitate the deal. Karl wants Lawson. If Karl could get Lawson 2 first round picks (one in the top 5), I think he does that deal.
Cousins...hmmm...He's a damn good player. An immature 25 though. Could he grow up with the right mentor/ mentors? Could those mentors be Kobe and Byron?
I'd think about it. No future 1sts though. This year picks, Tarik, Kelly... yeah, I'd probably do it. This is one of the top centers in the league we're talking about, just entering his prime. 24/13 and almost 2 blocks per game. Those are monster numbers. To put things in perspective, those are arguably better stats than prime Dwight's. And he shoots FTs over 75% too. Cousins plays over 70 games/season on average. 275 lbs of muscle... tough guy. Underrated passer who can give you almost 4 assists per game in the right system. With Clarkson and Randle... wow, that's an amazing young core right there. Get the right FA when the time comes, and you have a legit contender.
I just worked up a 3 way deal with the following teams: Lakers, Sacramento, and Denver. It didn't work because we were over the tax threshold. I'll put it up, though. Lakers In: Boogie Denver In: Collison, Stauskas, Williams, Our 2nd round pick. Sacramento In: Lawson, top 5 pick, Houston 1st. Plus, Remember, they get their own lottery pick. Potentially, Karl would go into the lottery with 2 lottery picks, and a late first rounder. Also, netting a Player he loves...
I'll try. I just wanted to put the framework up. Trying to find ways to keep Clarkson/Randle while adding Boogie.
They could rework it. We just need a framework to work out of; if Denver could get a first out of the deal, it looks better. Mind you, they wanted 2 firsts for Mosgov; if we keep Randle and Clarkson and add Boogie, we scored this summer in a very big way.
I'd do the cousins deal for the top 5 and the 2nd rounder plus black. Do that, sign middleton? Clarkson, kobe, middleton, randle, cousins.
Cousins or not; I think we're shopping this pick. I wouldn't be surprised at all moving it for an established player...
had sac not made a sound coaching hire, i'd think the lakers' 2 firsts might have gotten it done for a disgruntled cousins. as it stands, i'm guessing sac would rebuff all offers for cousins. i agree that the lakers will be listening to trade offers for the pick, though. historically, a top-5 pick nets you a current allstar.
I'm really returning to Brook Lopez now as my no. 1 target...guy is beasting and finally looks healthy
We could use something like this next season 17.2 pts 7.4 rebs 1.8 blks 51% FG... I miss that in a Laker big man
I love Brook's game too, but I can't justify spending big, long term money with a guy with his injury history.
Can someone give me a quick breakdown of Khris Middleton, don't think I've watched him play this season.
Solid player. Good outside shot, good defender. Won't create 20 points a game for himself, but a solid SF type of guy. Comparable numbers to Wes Matthews and Danny Green, but younger.
I think those are great comparisons. I think his ceiling is high due to his age and efficiency so far.
