YES! By reading between the lines and using my secret decoder ring, I see Kevin love doesn't love his team, city or teammates, he wants to stay for the moment until he moves to Kobe Bryant's house. Oh and something about a love stick, but I am ignoring that.

On related news the Laker's still have full confidence in coach Mike Brown who was last seen updating his Buss compromising DVD'S to Blu-ray.

I think we have a shot Randle, and we have to take it with Durant. I think the whole use of the word love is him overcompensating for his dissatisfaction with elements of Thunder, Coach and saltiness at the emergence of the beast that is Russel Westbrook. Either that or he is saying he wants to play with the enigma that is Kevin Love (just say no Durantula, only one Kevin allowed per team please)

Come to LA and win rings Durant Oklahoma will have no choice but to retire your jersey, they have space.

I believe him. But he's going to get an offer from the Lakers when the time comes, and then we'll see what he has to say.

Apparently, Scott knows who he wants in his foxhole...

Yet, Lakers coach Byron Scott has still held extended practices, vowing that “the season ain’t over.”

“We still have work to do,” said Scott, whose team will play the Clippers (52-26) in a designated road game at Staples Center. “We’re still trying to implement some of the things for next year as well. We don’t know how many guys will be here. The first thing is I don’t quit.”

Scott remains curious to see which ones will adopt the same attitude.

“I got a sense of a whole lot of people I wouldn’t want to be in a foxhole with,” Scott said, laughing. “I think they’d end up shooting me in the back. I have a pretty good sense of the guys who will be around that we can build around and build together this process and go through it. I think we’ll be fine.”

I wonder who he means... Clarkson and Price obviously is on the list. I think Ellington and Davis are. I think Kelly takes some consideration but he might be in there.

Possibilities are Black, Brown, and maybe Lin.

People he wouldn't want in the trenches with him are probably Hill, definitely Johnson, and maybe Boozer... I think Young is here right now, but only because he has the potential to be so much more.

I honestly don't know anymore... everything Byron says I take with a grain of salt. I'm not sure if he just speaks his mind, or maybe he is trying to use some "motivational techniques" or perhaps it's just some random stuff that comes out of his mouth. I mean, at this point it really doesn't matter who is "in the foxhole" and who isn't. We know most of those guys aren't coming back anyway.

He has to talk to Mitch about this, and not necessarily the press. It's too late for any of that. Talk to Mitch, make sure you're on the same page when it comes to the vision/direction for the franchise and move on. This was a tank year, plain and simple. No need for Byron to try to find excuses for himself or for the players. We get it. This season is already behind us; now we have to focus on signing a quality player or two, finding another gem in the draft and developing young guys. None of this foxhole business where "some guys" end up "shooting him in the back". If some people did not work hard or did not have the right mindset -- let them go. Quietly. At least that's how I would do it. ;)

If you click the whole article by Medina it sounds more like Byron is trying to motivate the guys to keep working hard through the last few games here. Yes it's over and yes most of them aren't coming back, but we're still professionals and we're still going to go out and try... In theory anyway.

I think Byron's point is that anyone who WANTS to be back next year better not give up and pack it in these last few games. If anyone on this team WANTS to be a Laker in 2016, they'll try hard until the end of the season.

I'm sure Wes wants to be a Laker. I also want to be a Laker, but that does not mean I will be. :p

I think in the annals of Lakerdom, you'll be a better Laker (fan) than Wes ever was a Laker.

Scott is coaching the worst Laker team in their history, an embarrassment to the Purple and Gold. You know it hurts him to have that indignity. I think he's lashing out at those players that have already packed it in with their lack of hunger to improve their games with hard work...swaggy p...for instance. Sure they show up, play reasonably hard, but know they won't be here next year....Boozer, Lin, Davis, Sacre, Johnson, Hill... but know they will get a gig somewhere else and are just going through the motions. He wants to wipe the slate clean, start over, bring back guys that are hungry, ...Clarkson, Randle, Ellington, Brown and Black, with their draft picks, a FA or two and Kobe. When this cast of characters were assembled with the limited resources available, who really thought they'd be any good?

Yeah, well, it is what it is; I don't care anymore. I'm just interested in Clarkson for the rest of the year...

Who's soul can we sell to get Anthony Davis in 2017? I'm afraid when this kid hits his prime nobody else will be winning championships for 6-7 years.

Not in New Orleans. He'd have to leave that team first.

Yeah really, but his next destination will have a decent team around him and it'll be over. He's quickly going to transcend the NBA. This dude is Olijuwan skilled, maybe even better.

No. Not yet. Olajuwon was amazing. Could he get there? Maybe. But right now, he is not on the Dream's level.

Ramona Shelburn and John Ireland on the radio yesterday brought up an interesting bit of information:

Boogie Cousins is still not quite working out in Sacramento. They believe it's entirely possible he demands a trade or the Kings simply decide to go in a different direction.

If the Kings called and said we'll give you Boogie for your Top 5 pick, your late 20s pick, Tarik Black, Ryan Kelly, and future draft considerations (1st rounders in like 2019)... Would you do it? DeMarcus is owed 14.7 million next season, 15.7 the next season, and 16.7 the next.

You'd have a core of Clarkson/Randle/Cousins and approximately 14.2 million to spend in FA.

Yes. Now, he's going to be making 3rd option money when the cap increases; meaning, you could potentially add 2 max contracts with Cousins.

They're going to want Randle and or Clarkson along with our pick(s).

And they wouldn't get them. If we can get another great big-man prospect with a Top 5 pick (Towns or Okafor) then we tell them no thanks, we'll keep the pick and you can keep Cousins. Do we lose? Maybe, but they're the ones who want to unload, so why would we help?

If they want to unload him, we'll offer a Top pick. Love got Minnesota Wiggins and that's what we would offer the Kings more or less. If they want more, I'd be glad to go into the future with Russell, Mudiay, Winslow, Towns, Okafor, or Johnson.

Not really a big fan of Cousins. I would say no to that. 3 first round picks + Black for Cousins? When was the last time a player was traded for 3 first round picks?

Love gets a lot of flack for not being able to carry his team to the playoffs, but at least, they did look like a borderline playoff team when he did play. Kings can't even get 30 wins.

I think Cousins is a good player, but I don't like his attitude...and I don't want to trade away 3 picks for a player who's bound to leave the Kings anyway.

If Cousins commits to stay, I would do it in half a heartbeat. Even if we land the 1st pick I would do it. There is no guarantee Twons/Okafor develops into the beast that Cousins is. And he is still 25.... not even in his prime.
