i pretty much watch all games on tape delay. if it looks ugly like the last two, i generally avoid it.

having said that, i half-expected to lose the nets game. i didn't expect to get blown out by that dysfunctional washington squad, though.

the team is what i thought it was, though. we can't shoot, and it hurts us a lot. our defense is inconsistent and heavily reliant on a historically unreliable player.

still scratching my head over the non-lebron offseason decisions.

Rondo and McGee were A plus pickups in my opinion. I don't scratch my head at either of those guys and they were key. I feel like Lance and Beas were throw-ins. I do think we might have done better there but they are one year contracts so I don't mind that much.

If anything we've learned in the last two games just how great an offseason decision signing McGee for the minimum was. He's quite possibly our second best player this year and at that bargain basement price I can scarcely believe how great he's been. But he has.

Yeah, McGee was a steal. Not so sure about Rondo though.... not yet at least.

yeah, maybe i overstated it. i'm actually not as keen on rondo given his defensive problems, but you're right that mcgee was a great pickup. problem is he's a one-year deal, so if he keeps it up, we'll be either priced out or it will cut into the salary structure going forward in ways we hadn't planned.

but yeah, really what i mean was: lance and/or beas instead of lopez, primarily. most second-guessed those moves at the time, and nobody looks silly for doing it.

I don't think it's a coincidence we're terrible without MCGEE. He is our defense. He allows perimeter defenders to be more aggressive, since he's there to clean up the mistakes. Compare the Charlotte game with Kemba being held in check vs the next 2 with Wall and Russ going off. A lot of that is due to the positive impact JAVALE MCGEE has out there, enabling guys like Zo to be more aggressive.

The FO/coaching staff needs to make FT a priority this offseason. It’s rediculous that we even have to have this conversation, because these are supposedly professional basketball players and these opportunities are gimmes, hence the word “free” in “free throws”. Ugh.

Lebron's free throws are killing this team along with the other schmucks. Missing free throws is a mental thing. This team has too many mental rejects. Cant keep missing 8 free throws a game each and every game. the little things aren't being done and the fact that they still make stupid passes when they don't have to, that right there is proof they have no respect for Luke.

Lakers made the right call. McGee was a cheaper and massively bigger upgrade from Lopez.

That wasn't the choice. Could have had both, easily.

Yeah, what Abeer and khmrp said.

This is the one legit black eye the FO took last summer (I don't think the way Jules left was entirely our doing and I can't really hang that on our FO).

Why they couldn't keep this guy here is beyond bizarre and a huge mistake on our part. Dude woulda balled out next to Bron.

Only rationale I can think of is that they thought small ball Kuz/Beas/Lebron at center would work and they only needed McGee and not BroLo

BLo agreed to the Bucks biannual exception of 3.4m on July 8th.

Beas agreed to the partial use of our room exception (3.5m of a possible 4.4m) on July 20th.

Maybe he didn't want to wait it out with us. But McGee and LA came to terms the same day Bron committed. Jules was decided on the very next day on July 2nd.

We clearly had a spot and PT open for dude cause McGee before this year avg about 9.5 minutes per in each of the 2 years with the dubs.

    Truly a head-scratcher.

Honestly, I just don't get the crying over spilt milk thing . . . we are crying over losing Lopez? Really, Slopez? I'm so glad we have McGee (top shot blocker in the league) and Chandler behind him instead. It's not really debatable. We don't need three centers especially the one who didn't rebound, was so slow getting down the court and insisted on chucking threes at a 30% make rate.

If anything I miss Randle and his ability to switch 1-5 on defense. But he and his agent made that a no go. Would have loved to see him play with Lebron. Slopez? Nah, not so much.

If we wanted to run, he simply didn't fit that vision. He's a great value at that price, but not if he's not going to play.

Interesting choice by the front office, but it seems hard to debate Chandler and McGee not being the better fits.

Just for some perspective: Brook Lopez started at center and had one rebound tonight for the Bucks in their win. One.
