He didn't pass on an 80mil deal your info is incorrect. NO ONE offered him that. It's what he was looking for and he would have taken it if it existed, but it didn't

Melton's a guy I wanted to draft. 1st would need serious protection for me to agree. Like top 20, then converts to a 2nd.

Yeah, he wanted 5/85 and was offered 4/70 I think. Pretty big agent blunder that we've helped them dig out of.

Yeah, it must be pretty disappointing when you gamble on yourself and lose. Confidence misplaced is a double edged sword.

and now two years later you're on the verge of being considered an MLE type of journeyman and trade bait with your one year contract

Makes very much sense financially... as we'd be freeing another ~3 - 4mil by not having to commit to a pick, likely in the 20s, oh, wait.

f*** it, let's hold onto the pick instead.

It all seems like a long shot, but so was getting Lebron, so who knows.

if we had Durant and AD?

My guess is he's a troll with a semi-connection somewhere. But if he was in the know, would anyone want him babbling about future plans just so he could prop himself up? I don't think so myself.

Has a number one pick ever plummeted in value like Fultz? He's only worth KCP/late 1st two years later?

With respect to the Ariza rumors; I'd welcome him with open arms, but he's declining. Is he better than KCP? I think he might be a better "fit" for this roster. While I like Pope, I'm not shedding any tears if he's traded; either for a bigger wing or potentially extracting an asset out of him to parlay that into another possible deal.

Don't get my hopes up Eric!

I agree with this logic -
Even though we have been money with our picks lately we can't play everyone and already potentially have 2-3 guys going in an out of our AAA club (South Bay Lakers team) in Moe, Svi, and Bonga. We add 2 more guys to this (1st and 2nd Rounder this year) and we start to just have too many guys. I want to keep our 1st for sure.

Plus, Korver might be a good trade comparison to go off of. He was traded to Utah for a player + (2) 2nd Round picks as well. Korver not the defender Ariza is but outstanding at shooting.

This would be a very nice tandem on defense for sure with the length and experience:

Lebron also when he's locked in can be a solid on the ball defender for a few key possessions.
