I agree. The next 2-3 years are going to change this dynamic and I can't wait to put those kids back in their place.

Kind of going over the game; Clippers did a good job of blitzing the pick in throughout the game. Pincus even tweeted it out.

Just another learning curve for the young man; he''ll be fine.

He needed that last night. Back to earth moment for him after nearly 2 months of solid basketball. Lucky for him, he immediately gets a chance to for payback.

Let's see if that "soft" coach of ours actually makes an adjustment some time during the actual game this time. Everyone just stood around the 3 point line watching JC getting trapped over and over again. For someone that hates running pick and roll all the time, his offense past the initial screen leaves a lot to be desired.

That's because we run no secondary type of action. If the initial play doesn't work out, we're left playing pickup basketball.

The real adjustments won't come from Bryon. They'll come from his assistants, Kobe and Nash.

It's really infuriating because the adjustments aren't really that complicated.

1.) If you are going to run a wing pick and roll, which in itself is dumb if you know they are going to trap him, flash someone to the elbow and put a shooter in the opposite corner. One pass to the elbow, turn face, make a move, if backside defender stops you, kick it to the wide open man in the corner.

2.) Run a pick and roll in the middle of the court, a little bit farther back from where you would normally initiate the screen. If JC can get past DJ he's got the whole court to operate and a lot of space to make plays. If he can't, the defense is stretched already and a quick pass out of it, leaves you playing 4 on 3.

I didn't watch, but I was wondering how much of it was DeAndre. He moves well on D.

A good amount of it was Jordan. The Lakers were scared to even come in the paint. I saw Black hesitating a lot, Hill and Boozer were taking jumpers, Lin was settling for jumpers... Clarkson was usually walled off before he got there though. Then when he did, Jordan was in the vicinity most of the time.

DeAndre Jordan has a lot of faults, but he's a great help defender.

Let's see how he bounces back. I foresee a very aggressive JC next game.

On the other hand good wakeup call to what teams next year will scheme to do now that he's blowing up and how it gets "harder" going forward in the NBA. In his face lesson about not getting the "big head" waay prematurely.

Good deal. Thanks for the info. Could you do me a favor, Trodgers? Can you measure out Dragic and Rondo's efficiency using your same info since the All-Star break, please?

    Here's the breakdown:

    SCORING
    Rondo 4.87 (Pretty unimpressive)
    Dragic 5.89 (Very good)

    PASSING
    Rondo 4.11 (Excellent)
Dragic 3.58 (Good to V. Good)

    HUSTLE
    Rondo 2.20 (Unimpressive)
    Dragic 2.43 (Solid)

    OVERALL
    Rondo 73.9
    Dragic 78.0

If you look at them from the 2013-14 season, the numbers are very close:

    Rondo 5.10 (so-so)
    Dragic 6.40 (excellent)

    Rondo 4.60 (ridiculous)
    Dragic 3.66 (Very good)

    Rondo 2.28 (so-so)
    Dragic 2.44 (solid)

    Overall: Rondo 86.4, Dragic 86.2

Dragic needs to find a system where he can have the ball to be the best player he can be. He doesn't work well with a bunch of ball handling players on the court with him - and he's not that great a defender. Rondo needs the ball, too, and he's always injured. I'd steer clear of both of them, honestly. They're quality PGs, but (oh dear) I don't think either is a significant upgrade over Lin at this point.

Great. Or an upgrade over Clarkson quite frankly. Thanks, Trodgers. Good stuff.

You're welcome. I don't see this stat as a be all, end all, mind you. I don't even present it as that; it's a measure of (mostly) one's offensive efficiency. I think we have other needs - Wing (SF), Big (C) - that can be money better spent.

I hear you. I'd probably ride with Clarkson next year and see how he progresses. He's getting much needed experience out there developing...

JC, Kobe, a new Wing, Randle, and a new Big would be nice.
Spend the $ on whichever one we don't draft.

We're a bad team, but we're not in bad position for next season. Not bad at all. It's kinda like we've gotten four lottery picks in the past three years: Randle, Clarkson, Black, and this coming one.

It provides for a great young nucleus. We need to make some moves this off-season, though. An ideal off-season would be a max (All-star), an impact player, and a mid-tier next year, but even if we acquire 2 out of those three I'll be happy, and I'll call that a successful summer.
