I was at the game last night and there were tons of clippers "fans". I'd say maybe 1/5 of staples. So sad.

I can say honestly that i would still hate him. My hope was always that maybe coming to the Lakers would change the way he flopped and the way he acted. I hoped he'd have more dignity.

The truth though is he's a Clipper. He's a loser who will never win anything, thinks he's entitled to everything, and acts like a child when something doesn't go his way. If I was a referee there's no way I could be unbiased because he's yelling at the refs EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Even on calls he GETS, he has something to say to the refs. It's not just that the Clippers have poisoned him as a person/player, it's that this was his nature all along and the two are meant for each other. He's the perfect person to keep them just good enough to feel good about themselves and always bad enough that they'll never win a ring.

Even when he traded for him I was a little put off by his antics. At this point I simply cannot stand him. He is intolerable. He's so infuriating that I'm only a little ashamed to admit I would absolutely deck him on a court. I would give him a solid flagrant foul just so he knows what real pain is like. That way there's no real flopping. He'll KNOW when he gets hit and what is and isn't a foul.

I'm sorry, but I NEVER liked Dwight Howard as a Laker, I don't know that I could have liked Paul either. If he stayed long term I guess I might have had to, but deep down I'd probably still not like him. He is everything I hate about today's NBA in one little PG.

I don't know his personal bio, and if something happened in his life to make him a whiny, dirty, entitled yet somehow playing with a seemingly invented chip on his shoulder at the same time type of guy, but I can't stand him. He has this whiny anger to him at all times that I don't get. I'm still annoyed by the way he reacted to Pau patting him on the head trying to diffuse the situation and IMO mostly be a good sport.

Here here!! I remember that play and feel the same way. Eff him. You'd think it was Lamar patting him on the a** like he did KG that one playoff game. [IMG]

So it looks like we need 3 losses or an Orlando win (probably against NY) and 2 losses to lock up number 4. Highly doubt we catch Philly since their last 4 games are against playoff teams.

so if we're locked into 4th, what are our chances of getting the #1 pick?

I completely lost in all this that Orlando won Saturday, putting us 4 games behind them in the win column, and 3 games back in the loss. That's huge, I think the 4th spot may be pretty safe right now.

thanks...sorry for the simpleton question but what is this scenario that we could lose the pick? i thought if we finished higher than 5 we'd lose the pick...why is my old boss from Philly telling me they might get our pick?

Philly traded for our pick from Phoenix. We've got a 17.2% chance of losing it (just add #6-7).

If we don't get the pick and it ends up either #6 or #7 then Philly gets the pick. They could conceivably have two Top 10 picks.

If we get #1-#5, we keep the pick.

Of course, with our luck, we might get #7.

And they'll draft 2 centers and trade them in half a year for 5 more draft picks.

    No they won't.

    Philly's starting 5

    Embiid
    Noel
    Towns
    Cauley-Stein
    Monroe (max contract)

Their LA Times beat writer is really enjoying writing how the Clippers are pasting us every time we play them. I agree that we take our lumps now because it will not be like this for too long.

the clips still can't draw, despite being very good and having two of the bigger names in the league. once paul is done, they will go back to losing out in all ways to the lakers, imo. only thing that could possibly change it would be them winning a couple titles, which looks highly unlikely right now.

back to tanking: still quite upset at that 16% chance of losing the pick. with the way things have gone for the lakers, that looks like 85% to me. just gotta keep reminding myself that the chance to move up is twice as large.

Here is how I look at those odds, in order of likelihood of happening.

    1. 37.8% --- Top 3 pick
    2. 35.1% --- 5th pick
    3. 17.2% --- lose pick to Philly
    4. 9.9% --- 4th pick
