HUGE question marks about his attitude. He doesn't get along with teammates, he's difficult to coach, he often makes poor decisions in order to force things. Here's a breakdown instead of just highlights courtesy of Draft Express. Looks like it was taken down from Youtube for some reason... Any who. Mitch went to go scout him so we'll see what happens, but my understanding is that this dude is a total jerkwad.

We'll see when workouts come in and see how it goes; but GM's have draft boards for a reason, and I'm not sure if they have small difference on their draft boards, IMO. They look for 3 specific things as it pertains to the NBA and they choose Best Player Available. I do like WCS, though.

'Let me edit this and mention those 3 things. 1.) Elite size or length for position 2.) Elite Athletic Ability for Position 3.) at least one Elite skill that translates to the NBA.'

I read that somewhere a while ago, and it has stuck with me because it makes so much sense. It came from an article; of course, it doesn't check for mental stability, confidence, how you react when you're losing, and those sorts of things, but you have the groundwork of what to look for in a potential prospect.

Not sure if it was the game that Mitch went to or not, but I heard a story that he got benched recently because he talked to a media outlet before the game about why he should be the number 1 pick. Subsequently, the team benched him...LOL!

Yeah I mean I know he's a 19 year old kid, but I'd have to really sit down and interview with him. There's a fine line between confident and stupid.

    kinda like Kobe, right?
    from nbadraft.net
Weaknesses: Hezonja has incredible intensity, but sometimes that manifests itself in him being too hard on himself and especially teammates. He's been seen getting in the face of teammates when they don't play up to his expectations ... He's a poor student and considered to be a bit of a wild child off the floor. Gaining some maturity and becoming more of a team player should be something that he focuses on ... He's very young so his long-limbed body is perfect for his age, however he must put on some muscle to play in NBA ... In one-on-one defense, he doesn't always exhibit enough intensity, but sometimes that is understandable in order for him to be as prolific as he is offensively ...

Fine, fine line though. Is this kid Kobe or is he Michael Beasley?

Again, I'd have to interview him. His workouts will go well, but I need to learn his mentality. Maybe that report is right and he's just a competitor like Kobe, but there's enough smoke to make me hesitant. I'd take a surer bet over him since we've only really got one shot at this.

Pretty athletic kid with a nice stroke.

I hate highlight videos though. Dunk, dunk, dunk, long three, block, nice dime, dunk, dunk, dunk.

How about some highlights of pull up jumpers? Some footwork?

Hezonja is a very talented young guy. Essentially he's a shooter with good handles, but then he surprises you with some athletic moves and dunks. The most interesting thing about him is that he has this Drazen Petrovic/Kobe Bryant cocky attitude; this can be awesome, or really bad... you never know with those types of players. He needs to add some muscle mass, but he's only 20 so it should not be a problem. He has played successfully in the strongest league in Europe against grown men, so he should be able to play in the NBA without too much trouble. I know Mitch was interested in him because we need a SF... we'll see what happens, but I definitely have him on my radar. And he already has an interesting nickname -- "Super Mario." ;)

What i have noticed in the draft disccussions in last 2 years (i never cared about it before). The european players are generally praised for shooting, high BBIQ and criticized for athleticism. The most top US players (lottery) its the other way. But in the end i think it is the effort the player puts in the work - these flaws can be undone in 2-3 years for the most part. If not then you drafted our Wes or Bargnani or Beasley...Kidd is a perfect example, very bad shooter and got better every year, recently Griffin also comes to my mind - he expanded his range to the 3pt line.

Interesting read. No way could you take him over Towns or Okafor. But depending on how the weekend goes it could get interesting with Mudiay, Winslow, and Russell with picks 3 to 5.

One of the better choices, yes. RT @dexterfishmore: Hollis-Jefferson would be a good guy for the Lakers to target with the Rockets' pick.

#27 pick - Targets: Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Tyson Jones, Demetrius Jackson. Any other targets you guys hav?

    Interesting.

I certainly dig his game. Pretty much a 3 and D player with physical tools. Not as aggressive as Stan Johnson, but a similar player in terms of size and game.

could very will be as long as we old on to this top 5 pick. I mean I'll be excited no matter what with our other picks but it could be fabulous if things work out with that top 5 selection

In the thread I made about "Offseason Plan if We Lose Pick," it really is crazy what this pick means to us. Just the ability to (hopefully) fill a slot for the next 8 years and not have to worry about grabbing guys who may or may not be balling out in contract years. Guys who may just be system players. You look at some of the proposed plans in that thread, and while not hopeless, they don't have the bounce back potential we have with this pick, even if it's #5. That probably gives us a shot at WCS to play center next to Randle for 8-12 years, or one of the two stud sfs in Winslow or Stanley. Getting one of the centers saves us over ten million because we don't have to go splurge on Monroe. Getting Winslow or Stanley means we don't have to overpay for one of the RFA sfs.

I will be praying (literally on my knees by my bedside) we land in the top two so we can take Towns or Okafor, go slightly overpay (maybe poison pill) Middleton, and have Okafor/Randle/Middleton/Clarkson/Black all signed, all under 25 years old......and for about 20 million combined.
