It’s finally almost here. 2 hours to go, finally a real game, LeBron and co giving it real game effort. It’s alwsys tough to win in Portland, but I like our chances more than I have for 5 years.

Part of it is the untimely/unfortunate passing of Allen, but this is cause the #show is back!

Offensively we have it. That's about it. Defensively umm I'll see you at the whine and complain thread lol.

No but joking aside I saw glimpses of great defense with Hart and Lonzo on the floor. And good ball movement, just need to make those generated 3's that were there .

Losing isn't fun and our team has flaws, but there were quite a few positives to take away from last night.

    - LeBron, Rondo, McGee were all great
    - Once BI stopped pressing and let the game come to him, he showed what he can do
    - Josh F'n Hart...enough said
    - We are going to be dangerous on the fast break, like Showtime level dangerous
    - Once these young guys learn to play at such a fast pace while thinking the game through slowly...look out

LOL .... you know Josh wants to but not quite sure here if it's OK to put his hand on LeBron's butt.

Well, I don't mind the loss. We won't shoot this badly every game.

I do mind the senseless subs and no offensive (half-court) or defensive strategy... but that's for another thread.

It was a very competitive game through and through. Too bad our execution was so bad in the fourth quarter, and if we had made some three point shots before the 2:30 mark of the third quarter we would have been in better shape. It's only game one and there was a lot of really good play out there.

I'm just going to live in this thread before out next game.

We definitely had our chances last night. I'm not worried about the 3pt shooting because we had great looks. We're never going to be a top 3pt shooting team but the looks we got we're not going to go 0/15 again.

We're a freaking freight train when it comes to transition and points in the paint.

Haha, we had 50 points in the paint at halftime and we averaged 51 points in the paint per game last year. We shot 4% points better from the field than POR and still lost. The areas we have to get better and is Rebounding. I think the turnovers in the 4th quarter (unfamiliarity of playing together) and rebounding the defensive glass (we gave POR 21+ second chance points) are the reasons we lost last night.

Clean those stuff up and we're good.

Back to Hart again .... excellent rebounder plus being this Stud that just gets to the basket when he damn well wants to. Oh and the great defense.
