ill repeat, to myself but still, the pitchers for LA want this game. They are pitching their butts off.
Bell finally bat for the hit than a homer. And look what happened, he now has 3 hits in this series. Amazing catch in RF that probably saved the game. Urias was legit, calm and collected in that high pressure situation, he earned that win. Don’t know what to say about Manny. He looks so nonchalant out there and that dirty play is not Dodger baseball, not even Puig is that low, lucky he wasn’t ejected. Kershaw redemption tomorrow. Early runs will support him for a longer game. If we can get 7 out of him, we would be in good position.
This didn't age well. What a game! I passed out immediately afterwards, but it was a tremendous game from the pitching staff. The defense was on point with Turner, Machado, and of course Bellinger doing a great job. Hopefully this 1) lights a fire for Bellinger who has been BRUTAL so far at the plate and 2) doesn't make Bellinger feel like he's got to keep doing amazing things.
I watched that game switching back and forth between confidence and hopelessness. Rich Hill is a pressure beast. Kenly with TWO. I was sure JT was going to get the walkoff but I’m glad it was Belli. But I’m pretty nervous for Kersh.
we have to put runs across the plate. The pitchers shouldn't have to be perfect for us to win with the hitters we have on this team. Arent we due a breakout game?
This was my concern. The Brewers pitching is too good for a swing for the fences every pitch approach. Belli adjusted and got the big hit. But did you see the swings Manny was taking? They set the all time record for strikeouts. That should not happen.
I don't mind them swinging their swings. It got us to where we are, however, they have to be smart too. They all seem to want to be the hero when it should be "next man up" mentality. Do your job, move the runners and make productive outs. I will say though I think the K's are inflated because the Brewer pitchers have had a larger strike zone on our guys. Especially in game 3. Even so, they need to do better with situational baseball. I mean when Rich Hill is the guy setting the pace for busting a** and putting it all out there I think we are missing something. Everyday players need to be doing that not the damn pitcher.
Looks like we won't have to see Freese getting burned for Muncy: Having Freese in there will help a lot with better situational hitting. Key question in this game is if we can score against Miley early as their bullpen is gassed from yesterday's game. I hope Kersh comes in with a chip on his shoulder and gives us that vintage, scrappy performance today.
I'm a bit surprised Doc is going with Muncy at 2B after Dozier got one of the RBIs last night. Hope it pays off.
Not for very long. This is a huge risk game for Roberts. I think he might be feeling himself a little too much. I expect that they'll take Freese out early and put in Pederson quickly. That'd move Muncy to 1st. The weirdest part though is Bellinger leading off. It feels like Roberts is trying to keep the kid inflated while he's feeling good, but if he goes back to striking out every at-bat that's going to kill our momentum early in the game.
Yeah, Taylor has been making good contact compared to most. Why not have him lead off. Couple of weird lineup choices.
