Ben Rosales @brosales12 · 36s36 seconds ago Lakers trotted out the worst lineup they humanely could and still lost. Philly's just utter trash.
So be it... Congrats JC, you've worked hard and deserve success. Unfortunately we've created a monster for ourselves
Meh. Nothing else could have been done here. We benched pretty much all the vets and played our young guys. If we stick with this line up we won't win many more. Just wish we had gone full out with the young lineup a while back.
At this point I'm hoping the basketball gods just punish the intentional tankers during the draft lottery. I'm talking the lakers actually winning the lottery for not embracing the tank and actually playing... For that to work the lakers and two teams ranked 5-10th worst would have to move up in the lottery. Dream scenario would be the lottery results would be: 1. Lakers 2. Sacramento (random team who would have been pick 5-14) 3. Detroit (random team who would have been pick 5-14) 4. Knicks 5. Twolves 6. 76ers (suck it Philly and your never ending intentional tanking)
The W is not good for the tank but still, if the lottery can work for teams behind us it can also work for us. So there's still hope !!
Ouch, but what else can the Lakers do? They did everything they could to lose that game, PHI is just that bad.
Yeah, at this point, it is what it is. We'll end up at 4, IMO. The odds are still technically in our favor, but most (fans) will be sweating it out on lottery night...
Yeah. If we had gone all out like this right after the all star break I think we could have gotten the second or third spot. I still think we will get the puck at the 4th spot, but it would have been nice to have guaranteed it.
May the powers that be see that we are playing this game right and work in our favor lottery night..... because Lord knows some teams are doing the other thing This is my prayer because we know its true.
Hinkie don't give a sh$$; if everything goes right for him, he'll have two top 10 picks. We'll get our late first-rounder from Houston. Oh, boy.
We should have embraced the tank so much sooner than we did. I forgot who said it on here but they said to don't worry our team sucks, these other teams are way better. Well they are better but they are actively tanking and doing a much better job at it. At this point we just gotta hope the basketball gods throw us a bone and prepare mentally in the off chance we do lose the pick.
Jeezus no room for error here and Scott's got Davis unhappy about not playing, Boozer, Lin how long is his chest cold going to hold for a reason. Not looking good at all. Screw Orlando, the bleeps, with the roster they have, doing this.
Update: No interesting tanking games tomorrow. Wednesday: ORL is losing against SAS, while Philly is losing against WAS. NY is losing against NJN and MIN against TOR. At this point, we can start looking at the Magic and no one else.
We will catch Orlando. No question in my mind. I'm not upset about tonight. When our young guys win it for us, what can you do? I am upset about the way we rode people like Lin and Hill to victories earlier in the season when it was obvious we were going to finish bottom 5-6. That's when it cost us. The Magic will lose out. I didn't want to say anything about this, but I had a dream we caught Orlando in the standings and we lost our pick. No joke. I had this dream/nightmare two nights ago. It was so vivid. I fear I'm having a Nostradamus moment. Granted the rest of the dream was a bit nonsensical where I was watching the draft lottery in the VIP room at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas...but the rest was so real.
IF the Lakers continue to bench a combination of Lin, Booz, Hill, and Ed in the winnable games we should be ok. However I don't trust Byron to do that and I think Lin in particular will go nuts for at least a few games to try to get his value up as high as possible before he hits free agency.
