Not sure if he can even hang with G League players, let alone NBA players. Plus he looks out of shape.

 

I have no doubt Kobe could get his share at 50 yrs old, but it wouldn’t always be pretty. I’m glad he’s onto his next career and is happy to let the next guys have their time. You can’t go out any better than he did, and he was never the same after the Achilles except a half or quarter at a time.

But legends make us think they can do the impossible, and we love them for that.

164 games with the Wizards he played in 142 of them, averaged 35.9 minutes a game, shot 43%, averaged 21.5 PPG, 6rbds, 81%FT and 4.5ast Honestly.. that's pretty damn good to be honest. I don't think Kobe would be embarrassed by those stats at all.

No comparison the way Kobe's career ended with Jordan's.. Kobe retired during a very weak rebuilding stage of the Laker's club with no relief in sight and tried to pass the torch and also missed a lot of games due to major injury the seasons preceding. Jordan left ontop of his game with a club littered in talent and options for future success.. so he willingly, once again, left the game while he had options to continue winning... Kobe never did anything of the sort, he left everything he had on the court and retired. He couldn't even catch his breath his last game he tried so hard. I don't think there's any doubt MJ left the game with regrets of retiring, where as Kobe did not at all regret his retirement. Kobe put up with bad coaches, huge roster changes, the league screwing them out of major trades they had sewn up.. Jordan couldn't even let Phil go he threw diva fits and stomped away from the game. I'll always put Kobe above Jordan on my G.O.A.T. meter because of it.
