In a rare monetary Melo loss, dude can't "double dip" now that he he gave back some money.

Hawks: We decided to just keep you.

Melo: but I waived my no trade clause because you said you’d release me and pay me everything

    Hawks: We changed our mind

Melo: How much is this going to cost?

Hawks: 2.4 mil, but you’ll get that from the Rockets, so it’s all good.

Melo: You pieces of crap mf’ers. Fine!

Hawks: We thought you’d see it our way. Stay Me7o!

So Baze makes roughly 4m less than Ryan Anderson over the course of these next couple years and Baze also has a player option to opt out of 19m to become a free agent next summer while Anderson's deal is fully guaranteed till the summer of 2020.

Houston will surely be losing an asset to dump Anderson...hopefully ATL takes them to task, but that would be a great add for Htown after losing Ariza.

Baze won't opt out, but he's an upgrade on anderson. We should drive the bidding up on them in a deng dump attempt, just so they don't get off that deal easily.

That would be an excellent pickup for them and really round out their roster.

    CP3 / MCW
    Harden / Gordon
    Baze / Green / JJ
    Melo / PJ Tucker
    Capella / Nene / Black

That's a pretty formidable squad they've managed to assemble while losing both Mbah-a-Moute and Ariza.

Ooohh, so that's where Paul's sac went. So that's why he went in for medical treatment...he wanted his misplaced sac regenerated , but instead they Jennerated him instead.

Well Paula, we hardly..uh softly knew you. Wish you and Russ all the best out there.

Deng/Zu/2 2nds for Dedmon/Plumlee....since we're not getting pure expiring, I would offer 2 2nds instead of a 1st (however plumlee is only 12mill guranteed for 19' season, so we can stretch him for less or would be cheaper to move than Deng for no $ back next yr). Dedmon isn't as athletic as Mcgee but he provides some of the spacing abilities ala Brook but a lil more mobile and better rebounder. I would actually reup dedmon for MLE $ next yr. Now our C core would be 4 deep (dedmon, mcgee, moe, plumlee) albeit not very talented

Chris Mannix is considered to be plugged in, but I really haven't ever heard him break news...still, this is what he said on KD and AD for next summer...

I don't see KD heading to us (plus I don't want him) or OKC...but I can see him heading to NYC.

Now AD on the other hand, I do want.....bad!

KD is not going to surpass LeBron. KD’s decision to join a 73 win team to win his championships is just not going to get the respect that Lebron’s championships will get. KD cherry picked a championship situation. Lebron’s 1-3 championship run against golden state will eclipse anything KD will do. And after LeBron takes our young guns to championship greatness for a third franchise, that will be hard to surpass for anyone.

Alot of fans are getting too comfortable that it shouldn't be Kawhi or bust next summer...but so far that camp is the only one that has linked their names to ours.

Klay had shown he's loyal and him leaving the dubs is far from certain. KD could leave but what links him to coming here? He had the option to link up with Bron here in LA this summer? Why wait and join next summer?

Butler and Ky are a fickle couple and nothing has indicated they're strongly LA bound or even considering the Lakers.

So again, if Kawhi wants to come here, we need to pursue that. Cause after next summer, our cap gets jammed up with our kiddies and their extensions on deck. If you want to add to the roster, next summer is our last crack at it.

If we don’t be get Kawhi for 2019, then Ingram will be our Kawhi. Not worried, and money saved.

I love BI and out of all our kiddies, I got the highest hopes for him. But BI isn't even in the same defensive league as Kawhi. He can be a reputable defensive player one day, but Kawhi type defensive impact... probably not.

It's been rumored that Kawhi is at full health now. So I'm not worried on that end.

I rather we spend that money on Kawhi and (possibly) spend taxes to keep BI down the line rather than be capped out and incapable of "adding" a star to a roster that has BI on it. It's not really saving money tho...it's actually sitting on a resource and then having the kiddies (via their extensions) occupy it rather than adding a star to occupy it.

Kawhi @ the 2, with BI @ the 3 while we pay taxes down the line is a whole lot better than just having BI out there by himself with a hefty extension and saving on a tax bill for Jeanie.

Hypothetically, Bron and a maxed out Kawhi would count as 74m against a 2020/21 cap (when BI is first eligible to have his extension kick in). So with a projected 116m salary cap, let's say BI gets a max 29m extension, LA would still be some 40m away from the tax theshold (projected to be @141m for the '20/21 season). Jeanie wouldn't be looking at a crazy tax bill, so money isn't really "wasted" if we add a max guy to this team next summer.

Btw Houston is trying hard to get off Anderson's contract. Lowe heard that the offer for Baze was Anderson/1st...
