That's what I suggested or where the later picks come into discussion. Let's take a flyer on raw center that has all the athletic tools to be a decent rim-protector and that would help immensely. Considering if you could find him in the 2nd round where contracts aren't guaranteed, that's even better...

Well, that's where our lottery pick comes into play. If we have a chance at Towns, do it. If you miss out, go for Cauley-Stein who has the Tyson Chandler mold.

Of course. No debate. The higher likelihood is we end up at 5, though. In that scenario, Towns and Okafor will not be available under any circumstances, IMO. Now if it comes down to WCS and Johnson, I'd favor WCS because of the scarcity at the Center position with his elite size, elite athletic tools, and his ability to guard all 5 positions; however, it would still come down to workouts for me, and I wouldn't be mad at selecting Johnson.

Great. I want them to Lose Love and get nothing in return, while being over the cap.

Monta Ellis is probably going to opt out of his deal this offseason. Thoughts on him for around 8-10 million per?

He's good. Talented scorer for sure, but he can't really shoot the 3. I think this is an important skill for a SG in this modern NBA.

Oh man... if Kobe retired this summer I'd jump on that. As it is I'm not sure about the fit. Where would we put him? Would he be the PG we're looking for?

Dallas also has expressed concern about his attitude. They say when he gets in a slump hr tends to get moody and angry and it rubs off on his teammates.

No, you would have to play him @ the 2.

So Kobe slides down to three? I'm not that excited about that idea. Our defense would be at best bad but our offense would have at least three capable creators.

I'm not sure either... but he could be the guy we need. Really good athlete, dynamic scorer, can play D too. With Clarkson, him, healthy Randle and Kobe (obviously), Swag off the bench... That's some great scoring right there. You'd often have at least two guys on the floor who are hot. And they could score inside or from mid-range. The 3-pt shooting worries me a little as I mentioned earlier; none of them, except perhaps Young, can really shoot it on a consistent basis.

We have a young version of Monta in Clarkson. He's no quite as good (yet), but he has a far better attitude and he costs 10 percent of the number you're proposing. I actually think someone pays Monta closer to 12. I'd MUCH rather throw that 10 or even 12 million at Khris Middleton and dare the Bucks to match.

Yeah, I kind of knew this already; it dawned on me weeks ago that is just what might happen. Presti isn't stupid, though. If KD leaves, Russell will be shopped. Russell will want to end up here to reunite with Love. So, if Russell could stay healthy, keep playing at a highly productive level with no issues with his knees, desires to come here, the question becomes, how much would you give up for Russell.

We'll have our top 5 pick (hopefully), Clarkson, Randall, and whatever other assets we acquire by that point. It's going to be interesting nonetheless...

If his desire is truly to come to LA to play with Love, why give up anything? Keep our assets and sign him in the offseason.

You think Presti is just going to let Westbrook walk without getting anything? Unless Westbrook has a no trade clause in his contract, Presti will shop Russell and get something in return.

That's fine. But if his desire is really to play in LA with Love, he'll do what Dwight did. Get traded, spend one year at his new address and then leave to come here.
