You could be right. Just keep in mind that when it comes to bright colors, lighting, saturation and other optical factors can distort the final image. Like you ever notice our uniforms look blue on TV in stead of purple? But a handful of arenas have lighting that brings the purple out? Sometimes our jerseys also look bright yellow, like they did that time we played a pre-season game at the Forum in 2010.
if they're going to go back to the showtime look they need to also go back to the darker shade of yellow the showtime letting with the bright yellow isn't the best look in my opinion
Nike is too cheap I guess. They probably don't want to spend on creating more "complex" colors. They did the same for some soccer teams for example ....
If I had my way and that's the case, screw Nike then. Purple & Gold tradition above all. And who's to say they WON'T cash in despite, what you say "spending on 'complex' colors" especially with Lebron for sure to top jersey sales next season. Not disagreeing with you, BTW.
The uniform design itself looks good but the coloring is an atrocity. I've seen people blaming Jeanie for signing off on it, but I have a feeling they are strong-armed into these things by Nike, same thing happens with our AD at UK. A few years ago, Nike changed the shade of blue we had used for decades, yet claims it's what it has always been, and has started shoving this blue/white checkerboard pattern down our throats to the point where fans are boycotting new gear. We have voiced our concerns to leadership but the response is "Nike designs the uniforms and we have a good partnership with them", which seems like the company line at this point. Feels like the same thing is happening here, especially considering the Lakers' COO contacted Nike about it last season: https://www.ocregister.com/2017/11/...urple-and-gold-without-the-purple-its-coming/
GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly want to buy all three of them. I also hope we have a Hollywood Nights or city version too.
I really hope this is legit, because the Michigan yellow ones above are hideous. The gold here is spot on though, the purple is right, and the white might be my favorite. Love the little gold shadowing around the numbers and at the shoulder.
Sorry to play spoiler, but that nbajerseyshop.online website looks like one of those fake jersey websites from China. https://www.nbajerseyshop.online/lakers-23-lebron-james-icon-edition-jersey-gold
