Yeah he is really impressively built and strong and coordinated as hell on offense. It makes me depressed watching him while knowing our chances of drafting him are so unlikely.

I mean they're not horribly unlikely. We have an 11.9% chance at #1 and Philadelphia for all the ruckus has only a 15.6% chance at the #1 pick. The only two who have a significantly higher chance at getting the #1 pick are Minny and NY, but we're still in the conversation.

If this thing were a pie chart, our slice wouldn't look too bad. I think people are getting a little too caught up in the positioning and not enough in the actual numbers. Except the negative numbers! Everyone is really looking at those.

I think we should start looking at our chance of giving that pick to Philly more seriously. We should be happy if we get any pick from #1 to #5.

That's all I'm really counting on... I'm happy if we get the #5 pick which is statistically the pick we're most likely to get.

At #5 we're picking between Stan Johnson and Willie Cauley-Stein probably. Good NBA prospects that will help our rebuild.

Because the negative numbers are worse than the positive ones are good. Losing the pick is catastrophic. If we pick 5 and we get Stanley Johnson or WCS, while not Okafor, it's still something to be happy with.

It's like this: Let's say you were guaranteed to sleep with one of six movie stars. 5 are like Kate Beckinsale, Emma Watson, etc. But one of the six is Kathy Bates. You don't care what the odds are of the other 5 because you know you're gonna have a good time. But that 17% chance you end up with Kathy Bates is terrifying.

The negative numbers are still far less than the positive ones though. When I see a glass at 82.8% or whatever it is, I'm thinking that glass is more than half full!

I know there's a shot we lose the pick, but I don't think we will. Our odds are way more in favor of keeping the pick than losing it. I know, I know it's Russian Roulette, but still we're okay right now. If I told you at the start of the year you'd have a greater than 80% chance at the pick, we'd all feel alright about it.

while that prospect is terrifying, it's not as bad as having the first five options and the sixth be...say, Gary Busey.

i think the current scenario is more like that.

If I end up with Kathy Bates honestly I think it'd be a pretty hilarious story. Not necessarily a romp, but a hilarious story.

*** LMAO. Who could ever forget the scene in Misery if you saw it, when she prepared James Caan's feet while he was tied to the bed to whack them with the big hammer. [IMG]

At this point, everyone is just so battered mentally from all the misfortune the franchise has had that any chance we lose the pick scares the crap out of people. Deep down, I expect us to get a pick but I still want the team to do what it can to give us the best odds of making it happen.

Why!?!? You say lose the puck, now I'm thinking about the Kings missing the playoffs too.

I understand. I just am trying to provide the other side of the spectrum for us. Most of us as fans are freaking out... Just trying to also inject some calmness in here lest we all lose it!!

Yup. I'm keeping positive. It's much likelier we end up 5; I'll just be happy we get our pick no matter where it lands.
Fair enough. You know honestly, I stopped worrying about the pick weeks ago; I put in Tank standings, post up tweets, and that are negative and offer no hope or optimism for the future. I think I'm going to stop doing that. After Mitch's recent comments in his state of the Lakers address I stopped worrying about the pick weeks around that time; my trust in Mitch wavered, but once I heard his rhetoric regarding very pertinent topics concerning our franchise, my confidence was reassured. I put a lot of faith in that, man. He's not perfect, but I trust he'll see us through this process. I wouldn't want anybody else right now and the only exception to that would be Mr. Jerry West who mentored Mitch...

If I were the Busses I'd pay whatever it took to get Jerry West back in some capacity. It is not a coincidence that Golden State turned their fortunes around when that man got there.

He doesn't need Mitch's job but any capacity in which he can help us is enough.

I think if we end up in the Top 3, we can snag Okafor or Towns for sure.

Knicks I see taking Okafor or Mudiay.

Minny I see taking Okafor or Towns.

Philly I see taking Mudiay or Russell.
