Dude will sign the 6m QO and probably bounce next summer. The cbags now have Ky and Smart as expiring contracts in any potential Kawhi deal.

Makes sense...it woulda been really bad optics (still that contract tho) for the centerpiece of the Butler deal to walk for nothing (still salty about Jules btw).

Also Bulls can't turn around and trade LaVine to the queens for a full calendar season. They can however trade LaVine to other teams starting Dec. 15th.

Bulls now have about 14m in capspace. If they renounce Nwaba then they can get up to 16m in total cap back.

Meanwhile Sac was going to waive Hayes to open up enough cap to take in LaVine. They still have the option to open up just north of 18m in cap space.

I wonder if the Kings wrapping up that much salary will make it easier for us to swoop in and save the day by giving them Deng to get them to the salary floor!

Possible Jules deal if dude decided to stick...f*** you Mintz...take your 9m and risk a crazy free agent class next summer!

Portland now has about 130m in team salary and now become tax payers and are restricted to do things like use exceptions and take in S&t players since they're at the apron.

Also I like Boogie, but reality seems to have set in on him being ready to start the season. Personally I don't think he gets back and in game shape till April at the earliest.

The Blazers payroll is out of control for the talent on that team.

They're easily in the luxury tax. Leonard and Harkless combine for over 21 million. Leonard and Harkless!! Evan Turner makes 17.9 million dollars!! With Nurkic, they're at something like 105 million with Lillard, McCollum, Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Jusuf Nurkic, and Meyers freaking Leonard. If Brooklyn hadn't taken Allen Crabbe, they'd be at 122.6 million without a legitimate chance at competing. Wild!

We'll start the bidding for Lillard at Ball, Deng and 2 first rounders.

Updated available free agents. LA now has 11 on the roster (13 including Stevenson & McGee...but they won't count till we use up our remaining cap). We have 95.3m in team salary (sans our exception signings), so we have roughly 6.6m in cap to spend still. (Note: gray fields indicate QOs that have been tendered to RFAs and green fields indicate that no QOs have been tendered to these RFAs, so technically, they are UFAs.

Brook is the only one that makes sense. Our guard and forward spots are tied up already. Plus, I don’t think he has to take a paycut to come here. In this market, what we can offer him actually seems to be his market value.

That list of bigs is horrible. If we don’t re-sign Lopez it will be the first time I ask what the hell the front office is doing, he’s the perfect one year big for this team. We aren’t the Warriors where we are so good we can just roll out there with Zaza and McGee and be ok.

Zaza might fit the scrappy team model though

I’m not sure you should be disclosing details about his personal life

Brook makes so much sense for this team that I truly believe it is about 1 if 2 situations (below). Dude played like a star from the break on. In fact, he played like he was custom made for us, not fast in the transition offense but when it did become a half-court situation he hurt teams by drawing their big outside and vs a team that likes an open lane. His lack of boarding didn't keep us from being #2 in boarding. This will be so this year as well.

    1. Lakers got him in their back pocket, will even do a vet min with a wink-wink for next summer or even summer 0f '20 (otherwise would be awkward in a salary clearing '19 summer for an FA) if it means advances in roster needs but out of respect want him to hold tight until we see if can get a shooter etc. and use the remaining cap for our needs and then do a vet min or if we can't find anyone, give him the remaining cap. This seems to be the most obvious thing to me but wtf do I know, no media are talking about this.
    2. As OX1947 has suggested, they are letting him to feel the market out of respect. So far, so good on this end. I feel Brook fits our needs and style better than anyone as we don't require a great rebounder @ at the 5 with a squad that was #2 in rebounding. And as far as that stat and Randle, Lebron makes up for Randle's boarding.

Also I thing I have watched and noted about Lopez is him boxing out players and other Lakers getting the board. So his so-so stats in the area do bot tell the full story. And he rim protects, no one deny.s that. Mainly, his ability to draw a big outside and open the lane is so huge to us because we don't have enough shooters but we have plenty of people that will take it to the rim. I believe Lopez is 80% in our hand already. He is a way underestimated piece.
