I like Lillard but I would like to ship Lonzo out if we sign him because Dame would be the undisputed starter and we don't need Lavar talking trash.

Ahh yes...the incomplete roster charge that is my nemesis. My bad on the oversight, but it would only be roughly 5m that cuts into his max deal, even with those 8 mill in those incomplete roster charges.

Practical salary space implies we have enough and then some to give Kawhi his max and if he really wants out of SA and wants the Lakers marketing brand, I'm sure he would shed nearly 5m in max dollar, especially if after he's been held hostage for a year.

I like Lillard I really do especially his cool attitude he plays with (acting like he's done it before), but what did you guys think of his performance in the playoffs in Round 1 this last year. Playoffs are about adjustments and he just never could figure out how to get it done. Shot poorly the entire series.

I don't have an opinion yet on whether or not we should go after him, I just want to hear what you guys think about how he played.

He is a great guard who can shoot. His ability to finish at the rim might be what hurts him during playoff time. It's easy to neutralize a guard if he can't do both, shoot and get to the rim at will.

Lilliard with Lebron would be about as perfect a combo as you can have for their games. It's an option if Kawhi doesnt come to the Lakers now or next year.

I love Lillard as a basketball fan and on offense he is amazing, but he is one dimensional. To be fair that one dimension is All-NBA and it does puts him amongst the top of the point guards in the NBA, but if we are looking long term and building for the future I wouldn’t want a 28 year old guard who plays like almost every other offensive point guard in the league.

The playoffs just highlighted my point. Like I said, he is a really good offensive player, but he is built for the regular season. We need guys whose games translate from preseason to season to playoffs to championships and I honestly don’t see it there and that’s the reason why I wouldn’t want to trade our young guys for him.

First of all, the big that helped stick on him off the pnr was AD...not exactly your average joe shmoe big. Facing an AD led defense isn't exactly an easy task.

Secondly, the Pels gameplan was to Target him and make him give it up. If he's on the Lakers, y'all think the opponent's game plan is to take the ball out of Dame's hands so that they can put it in Bron's instead? I'm going to safely predict, if Dame has Bron as a running mate, he probably won't ever see coverage like what he seems in these playoffs.

Lastly Dame is a So-Cal guy that ain't a b****...he'll embrace the scrutiny that comes with playing for your home team and along the best player in the business. I'd give up Zo for Dame in a Lillasecond.

So starting at 9am PT tomorrow, pen gets to hit paper on these new deals and LA has 5.6m (actually 7.3m in practical) cap space left.

We all like BLo and Ellington, but if we can't come to terms with that, then I would love to do something a bit more unconventional.

Philly took in Chandler's expiring deal for future 2nd round picks/swaps, but the Nuggets are still at 133m and need to clear roughly 10m to avoid paying taxes. You know with the Joker's and Thrill's new money along with Murray's deal coming up, the Nugs probably want to avoid paying taxes this year cause they will project to be repeaters from this point on, enabling a more punitive tax hit in years to come.

Faried/Arthur have a combined 21m in expiring deals. Set up a 3 way deal with ATL so that we send Deng with our 1st rounder and Nug 1st rounder and we take in the expiring 1yr deals of Faried/Arthur to add to our collection.

We get off Deng and it only cost us one or a couple 1st rounders while using Denver to help us with the rest. We also get a semi Bullyius replacement and another enigmatic personality for Luke to take on.

Khmrp: Alright bro, Dame is a Cali native...damn y'all so knit picky haha

    Dame's from Oakland though...
But yes, for the right package, I would absolutely love Lillard here. He ran into a crazy combo of Jrue Holiday, Rondo and AD defensively in the playoffs with a team that really had no business being the 3rd seed.

Man this is getting old already. I realize we’re only on the 5th day of free agency, and as Laker fans the last half decade we’ve had to wait until the last days or free agency to pick up the scraps that are left, but nothing has happened since Rondo. We need a real starting center, Lopez is sitting the unsigned. I sure hope the FO is working furiously on the phones to round out this roster or on a trade or something, because as is this roster is lacking a couple key pieces.

Oh man. I hate Marcus Smart. I'd be unhappy if we signed him even if he's somewhat useful which I'm not convinced he is.

No doubt that LA wanted to hold onto dude on a blow up 1yr deal, but Mintz screwed the pooch.

Think about the money the Pacers coulda thrown at Jules...nah, instead they go 12m on Tyreke. Jules essentially took a 1yr 9m deal and doesn't have his bird rights if he decides to stick in NO.

So you know Indy had their own issues with Mintz as well.

Am I correct in thinking that we have about 12 million in space if we hold off on the Stephenson and McGee signings?

No it'd be more like 9 but Lance doesn't technically count against the cap right now because it's presumed we're signing him with the Room Exception which we'll do after everyone else is signed. Right now:

    LeBron -35.4
    Deng- 18
    Pope- 12
    Rondo- 9
    Lonzo- 7.5
    Ingram- 5.8
    Wagner- 1.8
    Kuzma- 1.7
    Hart- 1.7
    Zubac- 1.5
    Cap holds- 1.3
    Total= 95.7

Cap room of 5.3 million or so. Lance and McGee will be added afterwards.

We have 7.3m in practical cap (5.6m including 2 incomplete roster charges @ 838k per).

Edit: Real, has a better break down above.
