Zion isn't very good at basketball yet though. All he's got is his wild athleticism. I'm not very high on this upcoming draft.
At 270 lbs with that type of athletic ability... it's rare. Agreed we need to see more of a jumpshot out of him.
Oh for sure. In fact, I'd like to see him lose weight. Easier on his knees when he's putting that sort of load on them.
He's definitely one of the better athletes we've seen since James. But good athletes don't always translate to good NBA players. Let's see what Duke's coaching staff does with him with regards to player development
He might be like Ben Simmons, and that in spite of a limited arsenal, is still effective because you can't stop what he can do well. I'm very curious to see if his mental game is up to the challenge of facing other gifted and more experienced and savvy veterans every night, or if he folds. Just picking up garbage points and running the fast break he can probably have a successful NBA career.
He played near where I live; seemed Larry Johnson ish to me, which is great. His back injuries hurt what could have been a great career. I lived in Dallas when LJ was at skyline high, too. I take credit for all this.
He's definitely more LJ than anything else. Big, ridiculously athletic kid, but I'm not sure he's a good basketball player.
