Been there done that with Kobe and no one worked harder than him to get back, older age or not. He also wasn't as heavy. Who was the other kid (a wing) we had that was promising that ruptured his following Kobe and he never made it back to the league even, I believe.

Not buying it. He said he got zero offers so he called the Warriors. If he’d called us with that offer or we called him with it I don’t think we’d have said no, unless we REALLY didn’t want to wait half a season to get him back and have to roll with McGee and Zubac all that time. Sounds like he’s trying to make himself look better.

3-team trade with Spurs and Minny? We get Kawhi, SA gets Jimmy, Minny gets to reunite Thibs with Deng + Hart so KAT has someone to play Fortnite with. Who says no?

    Why not trade Jules?

Lakers renounced all their free agents and pretty much agreed to replace KCP's cap hold with a new 1 year deal of 12m.

Bron and Rondo's contracts (still don't understand why this wasn't a s&t with NOP but more on that later) are free agents signings using available cap and Stevenson and McGee are free agent signings using exceptions, but till July 6th all are verbal agreements.

So our current books look like this:

    Deng (18)
    KCP (12)
    Zo (7.5)
    BI (5.8)
    Kuz (1.7)
    Hart (1.7)
    Moe (1.7)
    Zu (1.5)
    = 50m (52m in cap space)

Bron and Rondo's cap hit are the only ones that matter with that space, since Stevenson and McGee appear to be exception signings that can be used once we hit the cap. So we need 45M in cap space to get Bron/Rondo on the books and that leaves us with 7m in cap space.

However let's say we put a 9m cap holder on the books for Jules, then our space would be 43m before we take Bron into that. Take in Bron and then we have north of 7m in cap space left. So if we traded Jules for Rondo, LA under trade rules could take back up to 5m more in salary. That makes 14m we coulda taken back in. Then consider we have 7m in cap, so we could take in up to 21m via a Jules trade. Bringing in Rondo at 9m means we coulda brought in 12m more in salary. Also aggregating Zu's 1.5m contract in there woulda brought back 13.5m and that could be used as a possibility to go get Fariad or Plumlee from Denver with a 1st attached to it.

NOP also benefits in that they can S&t Rondo and then conserve their MLE for another player. As it stands, they used it on Jules.

We can always amend this into a trade before the moratorium is over if all parties are okay with that, but it boggles my mind why we didn't go this route.

it was Jonathan Bender, nobody thought Profit was some high lvl prospect...although I'm not sure what his injury was but he we were interested in him and then whatever injury he had killed his career.

Profit ....oh forgot about him but yeah him too. But there was another younger kid that did his after Kobe. Left handed player. I think I'm recalling a K in the first or last name but not sure on that. He was around 6'7". Tore up the Clippers with close to 30 points in a pre-season game also if I recall correctly.
