We just need defense from the 5, not shooting. Our offense will open up with our better talent, so that's not a concern. The eye test this season showed me Lopez was a matador or at best average this season on D, just like he was in Brooklyn. Like I said before, I'd rather have a Capela type player (Howard) than a Kevin Love type player (Lopez), as the latter got cooked in the finals.

Again not saying we sign the guy. But it's worth looking into. It's a better fit than Lopez assuming he's still not all about demanding the ball the post up every time down.

Lord...that’s not “rebuilding” by any means.

Dwight’s getting paid this year regardless, that’s what being waived gave him. So IF he wanted to join a contender at a discount, to you know, COMPETE, he could’ve have come at $5M and still be earning his original salary.

But his mind doesn’t work that way. And with that, I’m done, because I feel like I’m just arguing with...Dwight himself. Sorry, because it’s just going around in circles and still hasn’t gotten through that Dwight just isn’t Laker material. You’re probably literally the only person in LA that wants Dwight back.

I don't want him back 100%, just saying we should ask about him and consider it if he's willing to accept a defense-first role. Maybe he's learned his lesson, maybe not. Only one way to find out... call him.

What is this infatuation with Dwight. He's burned his bridges here.

I advocated for Capela because I think having an athletic lob threat is important, but that's what McGee was signed for.

I have absolutely zero interest in Dwight for a thousand reasons. And I'm not sure you can complain about Brook demanding post touches when Dwight has made a history of demanding post touches. He ran himself out of town demanding post touches. In fact he ran himself out of three towns now demanding post touches. And he had just under 3 post touches per game more than Brook did. Dwight was 5th in post touches.

I meant as long as Dwight doesn't demand post touches, I would be open to it. Wasn't talking about Lopez there, my bad. I wouldn't feel comfortable with McGee starting 82 games, which is why another guy who can do the same things like Howard is fine. But of course I have to include the caveats that he would be open to playing within our system.

Yeah I just don't see that as likely given his extensive history of not adjusting to a system. He didn't want to it here, didn't want to do it in Houston, and didn't do it in Charlotte either.

I'd rather go with the guy we know who provides a more varied skill set who we know would work hard to fit our system. Lopez last year sacrificed minutes and role the entire season to help fit with the team. I'd like him back for the right price (the 4-5 million we have left).

If he hasn't learned his lesson, and there is a decent chance he hasn't, then yes I would go with Lopez.

Can we offer MLE money to Lopez? If so, we're pretty much set.

We don't have it. But I think we have his bird rights so we should be okay? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, besides Howard. I would very much like to make an inquiry into Tyreke Evans. He's improved his shooting.

    Hold on to the kids.
    Sign Kawhi next year.
Wait for AD to get pissed, trade the kids for him.
Face the new CBA negotiations and a lockout.
Compete... unless Lacob pulls another rabbit out of his a**...

I can't believe we’re considering a guy who’s bounced around to 3 different teams since he embarrassed us with his “decision”. Howard even got ran out of his hometown team in Atlanta. Is he still talented? Yes. But, he’s a surefire locker room killer. This ain’t 2K. Do not want. Bring Brook back and let’s roll.

f*** no to Howard. My top 3 most hated guys: Rondo (already here), Durant and Howard. If we end up with 2 of them im out.

God god hell no to Dwight Howard. He’s literally called “Coward”for shorthand. His known attributes are immaturity, locker room farts, and failure. He is the polar opposite of everything Magic Johnson represents. If our FO did anything more than laugh and/or make derisive comments when his name came up i’d be shocked. Now let’s never speak of this again.

We will have to waive our Bird Rights to Lopez to make all our other signings.

We have roughly 4.8 million or so to work with. He'd have to settle for that.
