if you can get a prime Boogie

That seems like a HUGE if. Just like IF Kawhi is healthy.

I can't see us going after two complete unknowns right now. That doesn't seem very prudent. If everyone was healthy, I'm with you. I think if you want max money and it's a team you want to play for, you'd be more than happy to show then you are healthy first.

For a deal that like Leonard we have to take on faith before seeing them play. Especially Cousins. Elton Brand was never the same. I would take Julius Randle starting his prime 4-5 years from now over the best Brand ever was again after his achilles rupture. I'd take him this season. His is going to be stronger and quicker and jump higher. For f***'s sake. It's the workout and drills regimen he is committed to now.

I hear you on Cousins but there's been other players like Dominique Wilkins and Wes Matthews that came back and were the same player they were before achilles injury...Elton Brand is a good comp since he's a big but I think Cousins will end up being fine. I probably don't give him a bunch of years on his deal to safeguard myself...just continue doing 1-year deals for him or a 1+1 for him....

All this FA stuff has driven you over the edge. You just proposed an ELEVEN player trade for Kawhi.

We have the leverage. Spurs are gonna get bent over whether they like it or not.

I’ll give them Julius in S&T, Zu, two future 1sts, two future 2nds, and Bonga.

That’s more than any other team will offer.

I haven't watched him much myself, but the stats are lower across the board, and he was about the same age when the injury took place, and known as a very hard worker. Not sure if he's a good reference point or not, but just sharing. Injury was pre-Mavs

Thank you. And I take solace in believing that Magic and Rob and Luke value the talent we have on the team right now more than many who want an immediate fix with unneeded sacrifices to have what's going to be an immediate fix already.

Ramona on ESPN710 15 minutes ago:

    - Magic's pronouncement last night was an indication to the league that the Lakers are not about to panic. They're going to stay the course. There's a lot of posturing right now going on with the Lakers and others (in regards to the Lakers). Wont trade the farm.

    - She says the lynch pin is Paul George. Says that the players have been talking behind the scenes. General sense is LeBron has to decide whether to opt in or become a FA. If he opts in, he is staying in Cleveland probably. We'll know a good idea about where LeBron is going to go and where others (Paul George) are going to go if LeBron opts out. In other words, if LeBron opts in on Friday, we're going to ask LeBron to come here alone possibly and trust the Lakers FO.

    - She indicated that the "pressure" headline is mostly conjecture about how the other teams view the Lakers right now, especially the Spurs. They assume the Lakers are feeling the heat in building a team LeBron wants to come to, so is there an opportunity to take advantage? The "pressure" doesn't necessarily mean Magic is feeling the pressure.

    - Ramona can't report that LeBron will opt in, but the sense she has is that he will opt out. She doesn't see much sense in him opting in just to get Dan Gilbert some assets.

    - LeBron has ghosted the Cavs who are trying to engage him in improvements for the team and his input on them. He refuses to acknowledge the Cavs FO right now. She said it's eerily similar to his last days in Miami. Cleveland is trying to get him on board, but they're not getting any feedback.

    - She does say it's VERY significant that the Spurs are open to trading with the Lakers again. She said, in her opinion, the Spurs see this as an opportunity to get the most out of the Lakers.

    - Ramona says she thinks San Antonio is trying to win the press conference. They're trying to clean up and "win" the trade so they can sell that to their fans. She thinks this is a moment when the Lakers could possibly cave because they don't know if George stays in OKC and maybe they (the Lakers) feel like this is a time when they have to trade for Kawhi. **again this is her opinion on how the Spurs view this**

    - Ramona says (in her opinion) the Lakers aren't opposed to trading with the Spurs, they'd do it if it was a good enough deal for them.

    - She says if the Lakers stay strong and bet on LeBron and/or George are coming without Kawhi, San Antonio could lose all leverage against the Lakers if things go their way.

    - When asked what it would take to get Kawhi she said basically everything. She said the Spurs will ask for 2 out of 3 the young guys, maybe throw in Hart, along with draft picks. She says this includes Randle in a sign and trade and the Lakers take back a bad contract as well. (So... completely ridiculous. :D )

    - She thinks there's maybe a 25% chance the Spurs trade Kawhi before FA opens.

I only count NINE players and some draft capital (unless you counted S & T as 2 other players haha)...which reminds me...

"Yeah, I'd like to schedule my great grandpapi an eye appointment please..."

    I love ya, old Timer...
(Btw your proposal is a solid get for the Spurs...hopefully they relent and don't push this till next summer).

She has the sense he will opt in, or was this a typo?

And what time Friday do all these opt ins/opt outs have to be official?

Typo, I'll fix it. She says she expects him to opt out.

I have no idea what time they have to be made official, but she's been adamant for a long time now that the Lakers are getting both George and LeBron.

Like George staying in OKC, there seems to be no advantage in Lebron opting in, even if he intends to stay.

The Spurs are out of their damn minds. That’s Vas’ FINAL ULTIMATE PACKAGE! and they’d expect it outright. You’d be lucky to get offered that for a prime Jordan, that’s literally most of our roster PLUS the future picks. Their leverage is gone. My offer would be Randle or Ingram plus Wagner and future picks now.
