Ha ha, spot on. He’s my Toby. Ruins the game for me as soon as he he enters, immediately makes us 4 on 5 on defense, and chucks to try and make up for what he gives up.

I got high hopes for Zo...but if you can bring him a vet PG that he can learn from (yea yea, even flops....still love when Fish did it to opponents) then I think it would do wonders for Zo's development. I'm totally for Cp3 or Rondo on a 1+1 contingency plan if the Spurs drag Kawhi out till next summer. Plus let Zo earn them minutes from the vets. He shouldn't be a starting PG right now anyways...earn your keep bruh.

This post needs to be stickied, pinned, highlighted in some way. Good reference point.

How much would the Thunder be paying with the luxury tax if they did sign George to a max now that Melo is opting in?

    Wait...that's not right.

It would be $260-325M in total team salary and taxes, depending on who they retain out of their free agents outside of George's max (Huestis, Grant etc.) Roughly 150-175m in team salary....110-150m in luxury taxes.

And yes, that would be the most ever by a team to pay in taxes as well as team salary.

Oh yeah. The Thunder is doing that and Paul George is staying. That pinkie bond with Russell.

I feel like Dwight Howard doesn't take his final form till he's wearing a Kings jersey.

He had such promise. I don’t think he has it mentally, but I would have loved him here a few years ago.

He's definitely opting in; and yes, he'll be getting a buy-out. He doesn't want to be in OKC, and I can't blame him. The positive for us is that it will make it that much more difficult for OKC whe/if he does opt in...don't do them any favors, Melo!!

Just thinking tonight; if Lebron is the first domino to fall, and Paul follows, I think Kawhi and his camp are going to push for a move here. Just a hunch; if I were Leonard and his camp, I'd be quiet until July 1st; then if the pieces start to fall in place here, start making your request loud and clear: Lakers.

Chris Paul isn't coming; Houston will pay him even begrudgingly. He's staying in Houston.

Now, with all this news coming to light; I don't believe the Lebron angle AT ALL in Amick's piece. Lebron is coming irrespective of Kawhi or George. IMO.

Now where it gets to George is fascinating. Carmelo just opted into his contract making it official and OKC owners are going to have to fork over a hefty tax bill to keep a team that has no chance of winning a ring together for the forseeable future? I sure wouldn't; that team is locked into what they have, and quite frankly they are not that good.

If George decides into that scenario, he's dumber than I thought.

As far as the Lakers go; I've been saying this: DJ is our backup plan, and he might even take less long-term money to give us some flexibility to acquire a 3rd impact piece to pair with him and James. I know most here don't like him, but he is by far our best option to convince Lebron that he'll have another impact player to play with.

There is a reason we drafted two snipers in the draft. That was done with a purpose and with personnel changes coming. Bron AND Zo work best with shooters and finishers.

All that said, not worried; but more eager to get through this process, sign 2 max guys, and get back into the PO's...

One more week of having to read about what some fat guy thinks is going to happen who doesn't know s***. And a bunch of hacks in the media with equally less knowledge throwing s*** on a building wall so fans can lick up and double s*** all over the interweebs.

Why would the Lakers clear two max slots only to go through 15 trade scenarios to get the players they want? Rob values his young guys. How bout keeping them and still getting two all nba players? We all want Kawhi, but San Antonio will not trade him to LA unless they traded them half their team.

Get Lebron and George in here and let's go. Lakers have enough youth on the team to make a run.
