And @Punk-101 , that cbag scenario you came up with would be scary.

There is something satisfying about Mitch getting shackled with Mozgov's contract again. At the same time there's something cool about Mitch giving Dwight his walking papers.

Another angle to look at this is that the Mavs can try bring in a center with their cap space so that they can pawn off their 5th pick for a Bamba chaser and move down to get Porter Jr.

If this happens, then that's one less team that's in the Jules sweepstakes.

Sure glad with not hearing any buzz that Dallas is coming hard for Randle. Is there any other team ever rumored to want him a bunch?

There was even a report saying Dallas will go after Marcus Smart.

Yeah, I’m really glad we’re not hearing it phrased that way either

agree completely. There is beauty in the process and struggle of doing it with the kids. Randle even toughed on it when he was talking with the ESPN Draft Combine crew when he said he wants to see this thing through and would love to be on the Lakers when things are great again because he hasn't completely had/felt that before but knows about it from growing up a Kobe and Lakers fan.

All the kids especially Kuzma want that vindicated feeling.

    Per Jabari Young:

Somewhat Kawhi related, cause dumping Deng on them could have been more feasible for them if both Gay and Green had opted out.

Yes, but by trading for Mozgov this year who has a smaller contract this year than Dwight they save money actually. This is why I mentioned when the trade went down it just reeks of that organization being cheap and counting every last dollar. Never thought with how competitive Jordan is he would be this kind of owner.

I don't know I feel like they are just keeping it quite from the rest of the league or maybe that it just my fear, own anxiety of Randle going their. I mean Randle's 3-4 games after Dallas this year were by far his best. They had to have taken notice.

How do the Hornets actually save money by trading for Mozgov instead of just buying out Dwight?

If the goal was to get Dwight to go away, you just buy him out if you were the Hornets (like what the Nets are now doing). Dwight is owed 23 mil next season, you tell him you will pay him $20 mil just to agree to a buyout and Dwight enters free agency.

Instead they take Mozgov’s 2 year contract worth $32 mil (16 mil a year).

Is my math incorrect? Buying out Dwight will cost a one time $20 million payment vs $32 mil Mozgov over 2 years?

In year two of the Mozgov deal I'm assuming other players on their roster and their contracts are coming off the books so even at $16 million a year in the final year mozgov and that figure doesn't put them over the red figures into a penalty.

I still don't know why they made that trade because yes, it is saving them money. It's just such a lateral move. Mitch always did love his Timothy though

They want picks cause they don't have any. Any way to work a Deng dump here?

Could we swap picks and Deng for Winslow? He sucks, but he only makes 3-4 mil and he’s at least a living body.

I actually think its a good thing that these guys are opting IN...gives the Spurs less cap room to go and make a run at a premier FA to try and convince Kawhi to stay...

There's really no good route for us and the Heat. They've got a lot of 10-12 million dollar contracts, but they're all 3-4 years long.
