That's totally fair. I can't really argue with it.

A lineup of Lonzo/George/Kawhi/LeBron/Lopez (with Kuzma as the death lineup) haunts my dreams right now though. I'll tell you that much. That lineup there switches everything, shoots from the perimeter, moves the ball well, defends the rim, gets out in transition... I honestly can't stop thinking about it.

That means giving up Randle, Hart, and of course Ingram... but boy oh boy I cannot stop dreaming about that lineup.

Then again, if we got Lonzo/George/Ingram/LeBron/Lopez with Kuzma and Hart, we're still a contender.
And if we get Lonzo/George/Ingram/Randle/Lopez I'm still wildly happy so no skin off my nose.

It's incredible to think where we are though. Magic and Rob have to come through right now. It starts tonight.

Yeah unfortunately if I have to give up one of the kids to make that death lineup come true it would have to be Ingram. As talented as he is, we would already have his position covered in spades so he would be the odd man out in a trade for Kawhi IMO.

I love our kids, but I'm all in for the big three unless it proves to not be possible. Lebron, PG, Kawhi is the three headed monster we need to take down GS right now. If we can only get two of three I'm ok with that, but I think all three gives us our best shot. The defense, especially if Lonzo is still here at the one, will just be smothering. Lonzo on Curry, PG/Kawhi/Lebron tag team on Durant, Kawhi or PG on Klay, dare Green to shoot.

GSW's payroll is currently at $102million without yet resigning KD this summer and then resigning Klay next summer. We're the luxurious Lakers damnit! If we get Lebron, PG, and Kawhi, I say we sign Lopez and a few ring chasers and then go well over the cap to retain Randle.

    Lonzo/Yogi
    PG/Hart
    Kawhi/vet sniper
    Lebron/Fry
    Lopez/Randle

Randle is going to have a huge super 6th man Odom type role, worth his salary and luxury tax hit. Lopez merely jumps at tipoff and spaces the floor when needed, but Randle will be getting 35mpg at center/pf.

I was under the impression that a team could go over the cap to resign their own players? I know very little about the cap, so correct me if I'm wrong. Also, MLE and vet min contracts can be added after a team is capped out, i think, right?
    If I'm right:
Lonzo+Lebron+PG+Kawhi+Hart=$95.7million with the cap set at $101million. Maybe Randle's cap hold is screwing things up? IDK enough about these things, sorry. I think if you sign Lebron, PG and randle, you can then trade for Kawhi. I'm assuming we dumped dung with our picks.

You have to factor in about 12.5 million for Randle and about .86 million for every empty roster spot (up to 12 spots).

Nobody wants Dwight. OK, someone will offer him the minimum, LOL. He should go to the Clippers. Perfect way to finish his career.

Punk, you're right about using a player's rights to go past the cap threshold and using exceptions to add to the roster even if you're capped out (hence the name exception haha).

Your math is right too, but you are forgetting Randle's cap hold of 12.4M and that HAS to be incorporated to our team salary before we can use cap space on free agents.

But lets say that we go your route of using Kuz and BI to dump Deng and trade for Kawhi, then we can also trade an opted in PG (20.7) into our cap space (giving OKC a 20.7M TPE) and that gives us enough to fit in Jules's cap hold.

    Zo 7.5
    Kawhi 20.1
    PG 20.7
    Bron 35.4
    Jules cap hold 12.4
    Hart 1.7
    = 97.8M

We can use the room exception (4.6) on BLo too.

How realistic all that is, I can't tell you tho.

Twitter is quickly calling for him to go to the Warriors...

I could totally see that happening.

I'd like to see him sign with Cleveland just when LeBron leaves. Dwight and Gilbert are made for each other.

The most comical thing about all this is if Mitch and the Hornets just wanted to get rid of Dwight, they could have just negotiated a buyout themselves instead of taking on 2 years of Mozgov.

Considering they took Zaza and McGee, yeah, so could I. Would suck to see him win a ring, but I don’t think he’d go there. It’s fun there, but maybe not fun enough as they get pretty serious for a few games in June.

Dwight on the market can impact Jules/BLo's market value...something to keep an eye out on.

Also, I know of the locker room riff raff and that would cause me some pause....but Dwight at the room exception is something I would consider. And Dwight at vet min is an absolute yes.

Give me Rondo, Smart, Avery or whatever gritty dirty C bag there is as well. Makes no difference to me as long as we're competing again.

    I want that title gawdammit...

Gross, if I’ve already accepted LeBron I’m not accepting Dwight. I want a title too, but I’m not selling my soul to the devil.

The past 5 years and basement defense (other than last year) have been gross....

Selling your soul to the devil would be sacrificing your kin for a Laker title. Bringing back Dwight at the min...y'all are too much haha.
