I was just throwing it out there to see. Honestly though most of my derision came from Kawhi being available. I honestly thought there was no way we'd get to this point.

For what it's worth, everyone hated that idea. :D

And after looking more into his injury, I'm not necessarily keen on it either.

I cringe when seeing people compare Leonard to Nash... Nash had a ton of mileage, was old and was dealing with herniated discs and sciatica. It's almost on a whole different world in comparison.

Yes but if Kawhi is healthy, you’re open to the idea!

I get all warm and fuzzy when we’re on the same side or agree on something

if Kawhi is healthy and we have a shot at him, I can't say no. Kawhi and LeBron on the same team isn't fair. You add in Paul George and I think we're absolutely on par with the Warriors.

Kawhi and PG practically play Durant and Klay to even. Lebron vs Steph, I think for the next two years Lebron will continue to have a bigger impact. If we can round out a bench and two more shooters, we’re golden against golden state.

Imo, our big 3 are better defensively to be able to get it done...but we would be in the first year playing together. So on par in year 1 is fair.

I love this so much. This dooms Houston (although it of course boosts their regular season records every year). They are going to be capped out with Paul and resigning Capella. Good luck improving that team.

I wonder what the team would be that would make the most people happy here on Lakersball? Some people don't want Lebron. Some people are scared of Kawhi's injury. I personally want to see Ball and pieces flipped for Lillard. Some people want to just add Paul George. I wonder if we took the opinions of all the members here and figured out how to average together a "dream scenario" together what it would look like?

(obviously talking about realistic scenarios, not Lebron and PG coming here for the vet minimum or trading Deng straight up for Kyrie)

Honestly, if it was possible, I'd switch out Lebron with PG. That way they'd all be the same age and still clearly a threat to the Warriors. Those 3 with Kuzma still around is my dream scenario for the offseason. I know Lebron is a much better player, but it'd be so much easier to root for that team than a team with LBJ.

In a way, it makes sense with Ball as the point assuming he holds up most of the season (or kept?). Leonard and George are better scorers than James not to mention from a defensive standpoint. Lillard is also explosive.

We would still a competent backup point given Ball's likely to be injured. Hart seems to be priming himself for that role with reports of him trying to improve his handles.

There’s no such team at the moment, everyone has their current favorite Lakers and players rumored to be coming in that they don’t like. A lot of people don’t like LeBron. Some don’t want PG because he had a mediocre end to his playoffs. All that said, if whoever we were able to sign led this team to a 50-60 win season and the WCF, people would get over everything real quick, and that team would almost assuredly be loved by everyone here. People would have probably even accepted Dwight had Kobe not gone down and he not suuuuuucked in the playoffs as we got swept in the 1st round.

My preference would be neither of these scenarios, but instead LeBron, PG, and Kawhi. Not because I like LeBron, but because LeBron comes for “free”, where to get Lillard (it we even could), we’d have to give up half the team plus picks, and to get Kawhi we’d have to give up the other half of the team plus picks. We’d have no picks til like 2025. Zo, Ingram, Kuz, and Hart would all undoubtedly be gone in both of those deals, as well as the 25th this season. Signing LeBron and PG, and trading for Kawhi you hopefully only lose 2 of those players. That’s a better overall team, also taking into account that LeBron alone himself has given the Warriors fits for 4 years. (Not meaning that he had no good teammates, I mean his overall averages)

I also want Lebron PG and Kawhi. That's a winner. As in championship(s).

My question was if you somehow figured out a way to average out each person's dream scenario, or maybe gave considerations towards a bunch of people not wanting a certain player or something like that. It couldn't be more complicated than the BCS algorithms, right? Like too many people don't want Lebron, but everyone pretty much wants George, so the team democratically doesn't sign Lebron...that sort of thing.

While I’m not a fan on Bron, I don’t think putting team building in the hands is a good idea either.

I never was a Lebron fan, but I'm not going to complain about the best player in the league joining my favorite team. Don't see how there could be a better FA signing than him.
