So, Cooper or White. Seen Carter's breakdown of Cooper the other day on ESPN; extremely high on him.

Thanks Trav, I somehow forgot about those. Im completely lost when comes to football. Not oyeven sure where to get the best info so i rely on yall here on LB. Do you think the Raiders are planning on meeting that huge WR need via draft or ???

I think Kevin White WR or Dante Fowler OLB. They can draft best available I think.

Why White over Cooper. From the little i have read Cooper seems to be number 1 with a bullet on the WR draft board.

Unless Mayock has changed his mind that's the only one I worry about. He has a great sense for talent and frequently seemed to be on the sAme page with Oakland in draft assessment.

It feels weird to say this, but I actually trust the Raiders draft evaluation a lot more due to last year. So if they go White I gotta think they have their reasons.

Cooper is the more polished route runner, smooth and fast. White is a tick or two faster, bigger and more physical. With the larger corners being the emphasis on secondaries...he could be the sensible choice. If I were to differentiate between the two prospects, it would be like comparing Reggie Wayne to Andre Johnson.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one, honestly.

They are cleaning house...bad attitudes...bad contracts etc. They are not as handcuffed financially but the bigger obstacle is changing the current view of the organization by free agents as an undesirable destination as far as the chances of winning and career fulfillment.

True but some analysts for what it's worth think White has the bigger upside. I wouldn't mind either one unless Leonard Williams by the grace of the football gods is available for the taking...

For the top two WRs selected in each of the past five years:

The average season has been: 63 receptions, 867 yards, 7 TDs

    Among those 10 receivers:
    Averaging 60+ receptions: 7 of 10
    Averaging 70+ receptions: 3 of 10
    Averaging 800+ yards: 8 of 10
    Averaging 1000+ yards: 6 of 10
    Averaging 8+ TDs: 5 of 10
    Averaging 10+ TDs: 2 of 10

Those numbers would have led the Raiders last season.

Re: Free Agents. I think the mindset is changing as you see everyone who has visited has signed. The big question is will that spill over to the big time FA.

re: Hardy, barring either proof the charges were a lie or a complete life change and repentance from him I want nothing to do with him. If half of what was said was done he belongs in jail, not the nfl

The big time free agents are concerned with either cashing in where they can get it, don't want to be part of a rebuilding process or a combination of both. You're correct that the ones who have visited have signed just not those with the "star" appeal we were hoping for. They are all relatively young with their potentials to be realized. One or two superstars don't translate to immediate or sustained success. So far, the ones secured are very solid, even complementary players. As far as I see it, Carr, Jackson, Mack, Moore, Ellis, Hayden are very nice building blocks. Tuck is still game. I believe this coaching staff is a light years upgrade from the previous regime.

I agree its a process and for once in the last decade and a half I think the Raiders are moving in the right direction(wish i could say that about the Lakers). If they continue to draft well and groom the proper culture they could eventually return to being a dominant franchise again.

Yep my man...it's been a long wait since 2002. When Hue Jackson was at the helm, there were flashes but unfortunately he overplayed his hand and eventually talked his way out of town. As for the last two seasons, I would have taken Tom Cable over Dennis Allen and his boy band of clueless assistants.

Mentioned in the Carolina Panthers news page. He could be just a camp practice body or as you mentioned a special teams player. Still need another safety...

Davis says NO to Hardy - pretty emphatically.

    Ponder soon to be official:
Christian Ponder was rated a Poor starter by PFF for the 2014 season.
He was far and away the worst QB on the Vikings' roster last year, posting -.11 Win Probability Added, -16.3 Expected Points Added, -0.06 WPA/G, -0.29 Expected Points Added Per Play, and a 35% Success Rate. The Expected Points Added Per Play wasn't as bad as McGloin or Schaub, but his success rate was worse than either. I guess he knows the play book.

Good call on Hardy, like i said earlier if he had been fully acquitted or completely changed I wouldnt care, but without that he can stay at the house...
