    And another one....

37M in cap space just went to 26M

    #DumpWatch

Btw, reading all this Cp3/Bron to LA stuff...am I missing something? Dude has already sold all but 1 of his LA based houses and he's had that Calabasas house on the market for the last month. Unless he's moving into or buying up Bron's 2nd Brentwood house, then I just don't se...oh!

Put his Houston house on the market at the same time he put his Calabasas house on the market.

    Crazy summer ahead...proceed with caution.

I pray this new smattering of CP3/Bron to Lakers chatter is nothing. I have reluctantly started rooting for Lebron to come here, but not if CP3 is the caveat. CP3 3 years ago? Sure. CP3 even two years ago? Maybe. But he won't be around for the playoffs. It pretty much guarantees Lonzo will be traded (maybe with someone else) for someone like DeMar DeRozan or something like that. Then in five years it'll be Ingram and Kuzma entering their prime with an old DeRozan and little else since we will have had no cap room to sign anyone and no high draft picks to restock.

Chris Paul ship has sailed. Please get Paul George on July 1. Then go full throttle on Lebron. The selling point to Lebron is the Lakers do not have to lose anything in getting them. And he has a crap load of youth that are ascending. Also, more money might be available for next year when they figure out a way to dump Deng. Lakers can then figure out a way to get another top flight free agent to add more talent for him to make his last run of multiple titles.

i only like it because screw houston with a rusty spork.

but yeah, it would require gutting the entire roster for a two-year run, followed by another protracted rebuild. i'd rather houston have to max out paul because we're a threat (which is part of why i think this stuff is being floated...in case houston's getting cold feet on that 150-200 mil), sign george, move deng, sign lebron, and leapfrog houston into #1 contender status.

yes. though getting lebron will involve getting deng out first, imo. at that point, it will require a painful asset, too (read: kuz or ingram), as everyone will know what's up and will shake us down. still, though, it's really a win.

Lakers only lose Randle if they get Lebron and George, without trading Deng before July 1. At that point, who cares. Randle is a role player, he will go somewhere and turn into Harrison Barnes. Non-existent.

So here's a thought. Let's say Morey pulls off the unthinkable and gets Lebron.

    We sign PG13.

Dump Deng using the Cleveland pick and a couple of second rounders.

Trade for Kevin Love to help Cleveland's tanking by sending out our 2020 first and maybe Zubac.

    Resign Randle.

Randle/Love/Ingram/PG/Ball with Hart and Kuz off the bench is a damn competitive team.

Love can stay where ever he is. Mental weaklings are bad to be around young guys. Lakers get Paul George, the off season is already a win. If Lebron doesn't come, then you punt the last max contract til next year and hope Klay gets his 4th title and wants to try a new challenge.

Well, Love is sort of a punt. He has a player option that he will most certainly exercise. His max is under the old CBA. He can get 25 a year for multiple years. I think he's a good fit next to Randle. Their games would work well together.

I shudder to think of how many dunks and layups we'd give up with those two as our interior defenders.

I mean, we often had Kuzma and Randle next to each other. How much worse can it be. I'm only saying we go after Love as a punt on a second max slot.

I understand the logic, but that team is going to really be bad. I'd prefer other options to be honest. Love wouldn't be the worst backup plan, but it doesn't move me much.

Yeah, I don't like Kevin Love. Haven't since he failed and bailed on my Bruins. You can't count on him and his injury history is just brutal.

No to CP3 for similar reasons - playoff choker and perennial injury risk. And waaaaaaay too expensive.

Let's stick to the game plan. Sign PG13, move Deng, sign Lebron and Randle. Convince Lopez to stay for Room Exception. Sign Frye to vet min deal. Find a vet point guard to sign for min.

I don't think you can call cp a choker no more. He earned my respect. Dude was a boss and carried the rockets to a possible, more than likely imo series victory Vs the warriors if it wasn't for injury.

I don't know he still found a way to get his annual playoffs injury.

It's not surprising, considering the fact that D'Antoni treats his players like horses and makes them play high minutes. CP3 was bound to get hurt with D'antoni's 8 man rotation.

I might be tempted if there's a way to get CP3, PG13, and Lebron together. Would need OKC to take S&T Randle + Lonzo + Picks or something though.

Wait what? I'm not trading Lonzo to make room for Chris Paul.

Screw Chris Paul. I can stomach rooting for Lebron cause he's one of the best players right now but I can't fathom rooting for such a whiny and dirty player like Chris Paul.
