I agree that Rudy is second to none...

But other than the guys you mentioned...

Everybody have their puke buckets ready?

Dwight & Hassan have been in the top 10 for the last 2 seasons. Hassan has been in the top 15 this season in limited mins and a lingering injury.

Bogut, Hortford, Marc Gasol, DJ, Adams, Nurkic have all been in the top 10 over the last 3 years.

If you put a big next to legit stars, that big is going to shine and will look alot more better than having him anchor a team of non-stars.

But if you really want a stiff to work as a legit rim protector, you need the right coach. We can bring in a capable dude, but it's up to Luke to get the most out of it.

If that's true, I sure hope Kawhi exerts some leverage to get himself to the Lakers (if he in fact wants to be here). I think S.A. moves him for whatever Boston or Philly puts together ahead of trading him to the Lakers. The only way I see them swallowing that pill is if Kawhi steers himself here, otherwise Buford & Pop will send him back East for an attractive package of players/picks.

So if the Lakers trade for Leonard and sign PG, is there enough money for Lebron?

If the salaries match exactly and we don't have to use any of our cap for Leonard then it's the same scenario we are in now essentially.

Someone outlined in the Paul George thread that it was theoretically possible to get PG, Kawhi and LeBron. However to do that we need to convince a team (NOT San Antonio) to take the Deng contract for th Cleveland pick and Zubac, and also convince Randle to accept a sign and trade to the Spurs.

I think it’s going to be really hard to do both those things.

Eh I don't think so. You take Deng/Zubac/#25/Future 1st/Possible 2nds for Deng to Chicago for nothing.

If I'm Randle and can get 20 million in a sign and trade with San Antonio of all places (not Orlando or Sacramento or something), then f*** yeah I do it. He's unlikely to get 20 million honestly so that'd be a huge break for him. Then to get to play in a situation like San Antonio, near home for him, that's a great deal. Of course, why does San Antonio do this? Who knows. This would be a stupid trade for them. Let's call it Ingram, sign and trade Randle, and Bryant.

That leaves you exactly enough room to max out George and LeBron.

    Ball
    George
    Kawhi
    LeBron
    Lopez (mini room exception)

Kuzma and Hart off the bench.

Seeing Deng in a Bulls jersey would be fun for nostalgic purposes. Assuming the guy actually plays, which given the depth the Bulls would have at forward isn't a guarantee. Otherwise he'd just be what he was with the Lakers, a guy in a fancy suit sitting on the bench earning unfathomable $ to be a "good veteran presence".

As well .... at 7:15 on the recording he reveals that Ramona Shelbourne and another ESPN reporter are breaking the news that Kawhi Leonard has been offered .... wait for it .... "free pizza and beer for life" to stay in San Antonio. I don't know how they found a business to step up to the plate and make that kind of lucrative offer but that puts the big kibosh on all other teams scheming for him in my never to be humble opinion. How do you possibly top that? And other tidbits on Paul George that we pretty much know already.

I’d take that deal as long as I can pick the beer of my choice.

I'd do it in a Deng dump no question!

I understand the cancer/malcontent critique, but clearly Miami wasn't about playing great D. Meanwhile Luke is stressing the f*** out of it. Purpler pastures and giving him the nod as our defensive presence that can spearhead our success on that end of the floor may turn his career and piss poor attitude around.

Deng for Whiteside straight up? I might be into that.

However, Whiteside also didn't give us the time of day in FA and hasn't made drastic improvements to his game after his contract. I have no real desire to see him in a Laker jersey for a high price.
