Well first of all I'm humbled that the Gif Master you are is asking for my further opinion. Here it is. Oh heck yeah that one on the left is now great for the size. I think to make the point that some other member has .... in one's own astute opinion maybe been ..... ummm .... uhhhh .... let's be kind and say "distracted" while posting here and said something worthy of a WTF glare ..... again of course never any offense intended .... .... that it needs to slow down at least as much as (could already be?) .... maybe even slower than the one where he's in the light colored coat and has to get up from the table as he can't believe what he just heard? Maybe as well some short freeze at the end before repeating? Just to fix the glare. :Brows: Or not.

Report of Spurs possibly open to trading Kawhi for Porzingis and a 1st. We all know Kawhi loves NY spending most of his season there.

Got me thinking, would a premier FA like Lebron or PG go join Kawhi up in NY - great city, historic team and they’re in the east. It would be a run to the final with any two of them.

Then I saw their player situation. They have 74 million in salary next year for Enes Kanter, Joakim Noah, Tim Hardaway Jr, Lance Thomas and Courtney Lee.

You can probably dump Courtney Lee (12m) and Lance Thomas (7m) to the Spurs to match salaries. They’re both still serviceable and they’d have 2 seasons left on their contract as the cost of getting Porzingis.

If Enes Kanter doesn’t take his player offer, which he might not according to reports. You’ve cleared some cap. But that’s a big IF.

Tim Hardaway could still be a serviceable player but that 17m/18m/19m he is owed is a tough pill to swallow.

Then you get to Noah. That’s a worse contract then Deng’s. 18.5 and 19 left oweing.

If Enes Kanter opts out they could get to 26/27m in cap space. They’d need to trade Ntilikina and Mudiay to open up a full max.

    Just a terribly run organisation.

No where near what we could provide for a big FA looking to join up with Kawhi somewhere and why would Kawhi want to go to a NY roster minus Porzingis and no hopes of a 3rd big name. Add to that a new deal for Porz afer next season. No, the Lakers potentially have more to offer.

Porzingis will never last in the NBA. His body structure will never allow him to be a consistent player game in and game out.

I would trade Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle and #1 for Leonard.

    Ball
    George
    Leonard
    Kuzma
    Lopez (Resign for a year)

That team right there starts to become a juggernaut. A defensive team with a crap load of efficient offense.

I was thinking, even though I can't stand Whiteside, if there was someway the Spurs just took BI and Randle, the Lakers may be able to package the #1 and Deng for Whiteside. Then the Lakers have an all defense, rebound machine who doesn't need the ball to be effective. The only question is, can Luke keep him settled. I don't know. Just a thought.

If Porzingis won't last in the NBA, Ingram won't either. Just saying.

Not really the same type of frame or concerns for the frame. Ingram at 6’9 does need to add weight to be able to hang in the league, where Porzingis at 7’3 probably needs to be cautious about adding to remain intact. Phil Jackson and others spoke on these concerns when drafting him

I would change the trade package to replace BI with Kuz for Kawhi. Wouldn't take PG and Kawhi cause I think it's redundant. Health willing, I prefer Kawhi over PG and add either to Zo and BI on the perimeter.

But as a PG/Bron contingency plan, I would totally take on Whiteside in a Deng dump! Dude is on a two year deal but can opt out after next season making him essentially an expiring deal. You got Zo, PG (or Kawhi) and BI on the perimeter with a rim protector on Whiteside...Forget it, that's a lights out defensive line up.

We just saw how Gobert made a rookie and Rubio look defensively on the perimeter against OKC. I'm not saying Hassan is Gobert, but he was the 5th best defensive center in the league in limited minutes. Give that dude minutes and capable wing players and he should go back to the defensive ace that earned him his current contract.

Why does Whiteside keep getting mentioned in this thread? He's metastasized cancer.

No to Whiteside. No to Cousins in my book also. In today's NBA personality and chemistry matter more than ever, and they are black holes in that regard.

Only because we would trade a terminal cancer (Deng) for a Stage 2 Cancer. Ya dig?
