Since it looks like we're getting ready for WWIII, I figured we'd better have a thread for it.

I've heard mostly jokes here too.

What i'm confused about is didn't many people say the Russians wanted Trump elected? That Trump and Putin were tight? And now we're going to WW3 for Syria?

I don't really understand these conflicts.

I'm inclined to believe this is a bunch of BS, but you never can tell for sure.

I feel like actual tension is lacking in this conflict. There's no impending physical confrontations.

Is the world really going to blow each other up over Syria? I can't see it happening. Irritation could flare, but once people stop using chemical warfare so loosely, things will die down.

    :D

My question is which is it? Is he Putin's buddy or is he going to nuke the planet for a country that the whole world has forsaken? I just can't see it. If Russia/China were threatening US citizens or UK citizens, then I think it becomes exponentially more dangerous/likely, but for Syria? I don't know.

They need to decide if they’re gonna commit to Syria or not. The place is a wasteland full of corruption, killings and decaying cities. Middle strikes here and there isn’t gonna fix anything. If we wanna purge the place, we need to hit it hard and fast.

Of course I know the political implications are far more complicated, but Syria is just a mess and needs to be cleaned. The Middle East has shown its incompetency when it comes to maintaining order...

Syria and Iraq are a mess because the neocons and their Democratic Party friends across the aisle had the bright idea to finance and arm the "free Syrian army" who eventually became ISIS.

I'm at the point where we should let these places deal with their own matters. The only reason I was okay with this strike is because of the repeated use of chemical warfare on non-military personnel. There has to be some sort of rules of engagement.

But a full scale war? No thanks. We don't need that. They don't want that. You'd think after 30 years, we'd learn to let the Middle East resolve themselves.

It's been 30 years of us saying, "Just the tip." then 5 minutes later we've plunged all the way in. That oil is just soooo sexy.

Well now that the world is moving towards renewable energy sources, the Middle East is in even more dire straits.
