Fixed it for you. I think it was the quote tag screwing things up. Your suggestion could work - I think a few other endings could, too, but what we got wasn't edgy or satisfying.
Great points @trodgers and @Punk-101 IMO what threw the whole character arch between Tachala and Killmonger off was that Killmonger was just way too magnetic, engaging, and endearing a character so it left us wanting more from him. Either a satisfying redemption, or a continuing story. We got neither, but I’m ok with that because I tend to enjoy it when a story falls off the rails a little just so it doesn’t follow the same old story character/archetypes.
I love that I have a pretty vague idea of what's going to happen, but nothing has been ruined for me yet. I don't know who dies (although Cap looks like he's in some real trouble), I don't know the sequence of how/when/where Thanos gets some of these stones. I don't know basically anything about his other "children" and the Black Order... This movie looks absolutely incredible. The CG is astounding.
Okay here's my theory: Spoiler: Not really a spoiler, but my speculation on the plot Thanos massacres Xandar and gets the Power Stone. Finds out the Asgardians have the Space Stone, gets the drop on them. Thanos destroys 99% of the Asgardians, Loki sacrifices himself to save whoever is left. He warps Hulk back to Earth to warn them of Thanos's arrival. Thanos tosses aside Thor who runs into the Guardians who have been tracking Thanos. Loki tries to bargain for his life by revealing the whereabouts of the Mind Stone on Earth. Thanos kills him anyway, in front of Thor. Thanos tosses Thor into space where he runs into the Guardians who have been tracking Thanos. Thanos sends his kids to Earth for the Mind Stone. Thanos then heads to the Collector for the Reality stone. Gamora, Drax, Peter, and Mantis go track Thanos to the Collector. Groot and Rocket go with Thor who is now looking for a new weapon/revenge. The Black Order/Thanos's kids show up on Earth. Tony sees all this stuff going down, sees Banner crash into Dr. Strange's place (Loki knows where to send Hulk). Once there Banner tells Tony all about how powerful Thanos is and how they need to prepare. Tony calls Cap out of necessity. Cap, after getting the call, goes to Vision to warn him and shows up just in time to stop one of Thanos's kids from killing him. Unfortunately, Vision is still extremely injured. Cap calls T'Challa for help. Meanwhile Strange tries to do some voodoo and because of it, reveals the presence of the Time Stone. One of the other kids goes after him. The Avengers/Doc Strange are able to fight off these attacks and Thanos's kids are pushed back. Thor meets Peter Dinklage's new character (the Dwarf King, forget his name) and helps use his lightning to forge a new weapon. Thanos finds out from the Collector that the Reality Stone was sold to someone else or is put in another place and is now on a planet called Titan. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange head through one of those portal things and end up on that planet. There, they get their butts kicked. Maybe a couple of them die at Thanos's hands. Thor shows up and is able to fight back Thanos for a minute. Groot and Rocket grab Strange and the Aether and head out. Thor sacrifices himself so they can escape. Thanos heads to Earth himself after his children have failed him. Final showdown happens in Wakanda with the Mind Stone still protected. Wakanda fights off Thanos's forces. We get a great showdown between Panther and the one giant kid Thanos has. Then Thanos himself shows up and utterly destroys the Avengers. That culminates in Cap being the last one standing and Thanos crushing him. The final scene is Dr. Strange recruiting Ant-Man to help him navigate through Time and the Multi-Verse in order to try to reset the time line. They escape, but Thanos is still standing there where he gives the "run from it, destiny still arrives" speech. Meanwhile in Ant-Man/Wasp we see them exploring the Quantum Realm where they find the Soul Stone. At the end, Dr. Strange seeks them out and tells them he has a mission for them which is the lead-up into Ant-Man's role in A4 and why he's not really around for A3. At the end of Captain Marvel, she'll be transported out of the 90s by Dr. Strange and Ant-Man who tell her that the world is seeing its greatest threat. This will be what Fury was talking about with "you think you're the only superhero?" Does that about cover it?
You forgot about the part where Darryl Jacobson rides his bicycle into Thanos shin causing him to drop the Gauntlet, where Darryl picks it up and becomes King of the Groots.
Well thank you! I'd love to write for Marvel if only Kevin Feige was secretly a member here, I'd be in!
After watching an embarrassing amount of times, I'm pretty sure at some point he's trying to pull the gauntlet off and his surprising strength is enough to get Thanos's attention. The Russos said they wanted to make sure Thanos is the definitive villain in Marvel. One of them said he was "Darth Vader x10" and that has me very intrigued.
